The island can easily be reached by ferry from the neighbouring islands or the Dutch mainland. Getting there from any of the big cities in the Netherlands will take you about three hours or more. Due to the island’s location, Terschelling has more sun hours and less rain than the Dutch mainland. The island is only thirty kilometres wide and attracts many tourists in summer.
