Where to stay in London on a budget? Southwark, Camden, Bayswater

Location - Central Enough, Peaceful Enough

Location – Central-Postcode,-Zero-Transport-Panic.jpg

Urbany Hostel London is in Notting Hill, tucked into a pretty neighborhood that feels both safe and authentic.

It’s a quick walk to Bayswater and Queensway stations, meaning you can hit all of London’s hotspots without hassle.

As a female solo traveler, I felt super comfortable walking around the area, even at night — it’s social without being overwhelming, and full of charming little cafĂ©s and parks to explore between adventures.

Social Vibes - Perfect for Young Travelers

The vibe is fun, youthful, and super easygoing — exactly what you'd expect from a hostel that’s specifically 18–40 only.

The common areas, especially the lounge and kitchen, naturally pull people together. The hostel often organizes pub crawls and group activities, but even just hanging around sparked conversations.

I ended up meeting a group to explore Camden Market with just from chatting over breakfast. If you’re looking for an easy way to connect without pressure, this is the spot.

Rooms - Thoughtfully Set Up for Comfort

Rooms – Bunk-Nirvana-on-a-Budget.jpg

  • Mixed and female-only dorms available
  • Privacy curtains on each bed (lifesaver!)
  • Lockers under beds (bring your own lock)
  • Individual reading lights and plug sockets
  • Rooms have A/C and heating

The female-only dorm felt especially clean and secure, and the curtains made a huge difference when it came to getting proper sleep after busy London days.

For London, where prices can get wild, Urbany Hostel is a pretty good deal. It’s not “cheap-cheap,” but it’s definitely affordable for what you get — including modern facilities, comfy beds, and a built-in social life.

Towels and breakfast aren’t included, but there’s a kitchen to cook your own meals and a bar with decent happy hour prices.

Overall, the value is definitely there if you want both comfort and community without draining your wallet.

Final Verdict - 9/10 for a Social London Base

I'm giving Urbany Hostel London a solid 9/10.

It’s clean, safe, super social, and perfectly geared toward travelers who want to experience London without feeling isolated. The age cap keeps the vibe energetic and fun, but not overwhelming.

Making friends here was genuinely easy, and it felt like a great balance between having my own space and having people to explore with.
