Good, clean hostel, not my personal taste
This hostel is clean, in a great location, and has everything you could need. It's very posh with lively music, cafe, bar, travel desk, and many activities. However, for me, it was not the vibe I was looking for. It seems very focused on partying, drinking, and having a good time. I just wanted a peaceful place to sleep and rest. Trying to find a quiet place here to read was very challenging. So, the vibe and general college dorm feel was not what I was looking for though it is a well planned hostel. Lots of nice people, needed more kitchen space. Ended up staying next door for a couple of nights bc wake up ran out of beds. It was a bit more peaceful, more my style.

Best hostel i've ever stayed!
Soo nice neat and tidy rooms (of course depends on who are you staying with). Staff is really lovely and helpful. Easy to get bus or train. Loved every second when I was staying there. Recommend 110% to everyone who wants to have good time in Sydney!

Clean and busy
Had a great stay here, room was clean, reception helpful, plenty of atmosphere and people around so was really one of the nicest hostels i've stayed in.

Comfortable and cool place to stay! Free wifi in the future?
Everything's awesome here really. Friendly staff, great music, clean toilets, kitchens and bathrooms, cool events, great location, pretty safe. But the wifi's pretty expensive, $30+ for 7 days. All in all, it's an great place to stay at. I would recommend it.

Party Crowd and Everything is Expensive
This probably varies by the time of year (or week even), but when I stayed there, they overbooked our room (no worries, as they did fix it when we made them aware). But one person in our room seemed to be straight out of the Jersey Shore. He was a dumbo and apparently got in a fight while out drinking. He bled all over the room (and some of my clothes) and was generally very rude and inconsiderate. This isn't exactly the hostel's fault, but it may be an indication of the type of people there. More importantly, I constantly felt like they were trying to bleed me of money. For example, towels were $5 to rent (plus a $5 deposit), and internet was $10 per day. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless money is no issue (but if that's the case, then stay somewhere nicer).
Great hostel especially if this is your first hostel when arriving in Australia as its very social, vibrant, friendly atmosphere -- the staff are friendly, the rooms and bathrooms are pretty clean and the bar downstairs is excellent, the only bad thing is the price as it is probably the most expensive hostels in the city!
Wake Up! Sydney is a very professionally run hostel in the heart of Sydney, with a twenty-four-hour reception, including a travel desk where they are happy to help you find the best way to explore the surrounding area. The Location The hostel is perfectly located for anyone coming to Sydney by bus or train as it is two minutes' walk from the station/drop-off point. This does mean, however, that it is about an hour's walk from Circular Quay, but this is not a problem as there is a free bus (the 555!) that goes through the city from the bus station. The hostel has its own cafe located on the ground floor that sells a large variety of breakfast and lunch options. After 4 p.m. the hostel's bar "Side Bar" (located in the basement) sells cheap eat food (of good quality with generous portions) and reasonably priced drinks (for Australia!). The bar is open to non-guests and the atmosphere tends to be quite lively with nightly entertainment including competitions, quizzes, and live music. Rooms and Bathrooms The seven-story building has plenty of rooms from doubles to ten-share dorms -- the fully occupied ten-share that we stayed in (on the seventh floor) was very spacious. There are plenty of large lockers for all guests (bring your own padlock). The beds are very spacious and comfortable, with the top bunks feeling much sturdier than some hostels we've stayed in! The rooms have a modern design and look to be well kept and very clean. The bathrooms (boys and girls located on each floor) are very clean and there are enough facilities for the number of guests. Showers are spacious and you can adjust the temperatures easily to suit your preferences. Common Spaces As well as the cafe and bar, there are a number of common spaces for guests. The ground floor contains a bank of computers where you can access the internet for reasonable prices. There is also a TV lounge on the first floor, where a number of cushions are provided so guests can relax watching the widescreen TV. The kitchen is also located on the first floor -- it is fully equipped and with plenty of fridge space and storage cupboards, however for the volume of guests the area is quite small and we imagine at busy times there could be a wait for the facilities. However the range of food on offer at the hostel meant that this wasn't a problem we faced! Summary Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and plan to return later in the year -- the location is excellent for backpackers traveling by train or bus and the prices are very affordable for the city.
