Global Village

The Review

Global Village is located in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, but still close to the action!

The Location

Global Village Belfast is located just down the road from Queens University and only a short distance from the botanical gardens and the Ulster Museum. From here you can get to the city centre in approximately a ten- to fifteen-minute walk. It is also about fifteen minutes from the Europa bus station, from where any buses depart, including the one that brings you in from the Belfast airport. It is in a safer area of town so you won't have any "troubles."

Rooms and Bathrooms

The building has an old-style house formation, so there are bedrooms and bathrooms as you head up the stairs on the first and second floors. The bedrooms are quite spacious and they have lockers for keeping valuables. The beds are comfortable enough to sleep in, but some mattresses are a little dipped in the middle.

There are two single bathrooms on the first floor and a common bathroom on the ground floor. They can be quite busy in in the mornings but it is generally ok for the rest of the day.

Common Spaces

There is a large common area just off reception that feels like a giant living room. They have couches where you can sit about and watch Netflix. There is also an abundance of books and musical instruments for you to use during your stay. The other common area is the kitchen and dining room area on the opposite side of the hall. Breakfast of cereal and toast is served for free there every morning. The kitchen is clean and spacious, and well equipped for cooking.

Global Village Belfast is an awesome place to stay during your trip to Belfast. It has a very "travel family" oriented vibe and they will help you out with arranging Black Cab Tours, maps or any other information or activity you want to organize. And at the end of the day, when you're exhausted from the sightseeing you can either chill in their lounge and relax or get your Irish drink on and head on out down the road to some of the university bars. It's a great hostel so get about it!

One of my favorite hostels in one of my favorite cities. Everything is fantastic. Great crowd and fun staff. They promote pub crawls and meeting people. Great location and in good condition.

Best hostel I've seen
I have been traveling for 2 months and stayed in a lot of hostels. The location is superb, exceptionally clean. Easy going staff. Extremely well run. Hot water and great water pressure in showers. Wifi worked great. Bed very comfortable. Only issues --cold in winter, had to request a heater, which we brought up to room outselves. Also, if you are on the top floor, you must descend 2 1/2 flights of stairs to reach the toilet. Only 1 under bed locker in a 4 bed room. Even so, I give a 5 rating. Cleaner than a lot of expensive hotels I have stayed in.

Very noisy on the weekend
Likes -- Very friendly staff, amenability to accommodating changes to reservations, good common areas, laid-back, good kitchen, comfortable beds, good WiFi in the common areas. Dislikes -- Two pounds for a towel, very noisy on weekends, inadequate lockers in some rooms (either too few of them, or they are too small). Would stay here again during the week.

Very nice place, the staff is kindly and helpful, excellent sitting room and cosy bed.
The best hostel I've ever stayed at.
I don't even know where to begin. Never have I felt so much at home while traveling. The manager is an awesome guy, and everyone who works at it is cool as. The kitchen is spacious and a great place to hang out, as is the living room, and both are open 24/7. Rooms are great, bathrooms are great, everything is spotless. If you don't stay here you're missing out. I can promise I'll be back. Thank you Fox, Cory, Ella, and Antoine. What a great place.

Awesome experience
Amazing hostel in ideal location just outside city -- loved our trip here and will definitely be back soon. Thank you Brett and Fox for your hospitality, fantastic!
We had a double private room. It was well priced, plenty of facilities readily available despite the full capacity. No curfew! Everything was both clean and tidy. The staff were kind and pleasant, even the hostels dog! Definitely recommended and will use again.

Great hostel
We arrived very early. But that was no problem at all. We were able to leave our stuff with the receptionist and than start our tour through Belfast. The receptionist was very friendly, he answered all our questions. After we came back, he gave us a tour through the hostel. The room was very nice, it was clean and modern. The bathroom as well. The breakfast next morning was ok. We had toasts, cereals coffee, tea, jam -- a standard hostel breakfast. All in all I would recommend everyone of my friends, if they ever go to Belfast, to stay in that hostel.
