Combo Venezia is tucked into the Cannaregio district, one of Venice’s most authentic and less touristy neighborhoods. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and super close to vaporetto (water bus) stops, making it easy to explore.
As a female solo traveler, I loved how safe the area felt — calm at night, filled with locals, and not swarmed with tourists even during the day.
Plus, wandering those quiet canals after dark felt like living inside a postcard, without any of the usual worry.

The vibe at Combo Venezia is more laid-back and artsy than party-crazy.
The huge courtyard is the heart of the hostel — you’ll find travelers lounging with spritzes, people sketching in notebooks, and low-key live music events some evenings.
They sometimes organize cultural events and DJ sets, which are a great way to mingle.
I ended up grabbing a glass of wine with some fellow solo travelers during one of the courtyard evenings, and it was the easiest, most natural way to meet people.

The mixed dorm felt super safe and had this quiet, relaxed vibe that made it easy to recharge after full-on Venice days.

Safety - Calm, Secure, and Welcoming
Combo Venezia felt incredibly safe, both inside and outside the building.
There's keycard access for both the rooms and main entrances, and the reception is staffed 24/7.
As a solo female traveler, it really helped that the area around Cannaregio is calm even at night, without the chaotic energy you sometimes get around the main tourist spots.
I never felt uncomfortable walking back from a late vaporetto ride or hanging out in the courtyard after dark.
