Springfield, Oregon, USA, is a central Oregonian city located near Eugene. Serving as inspiration for the city of Springfield in the long-running TV series "The Simpsons," it is representative of the average, quirky American town. Book a Springfield, Oregon, USA hostel in this area for a fun weekend trip, or as part of a west-coast excursion.

Springfield is easily accessible by car from anywhere on the west coast, as it runs along the Interstate Five. A Greyhound bus terminal and Amtrak station are located in Eugene, and you can take the local bus between there and Springfield. Within the city, attend the Springfield Farmers' Market or go downtown for a great art and shopping district. In the area, take advantage of outdoor activities with rivers and running trails.

If you visit Springfield, you can't miss the neighboring city of Eugene. It's located to the west, just across the Interstate Five. Here you can enjoy the University of Oregon campus, home of the Oregon Ducks. In addition go to the eateries, galleries, and museums, you can take a day trip further west to visit a beach on the Pacific Coast. Florence and Hecata Beach are both excellent choices for beach towns. Both are about an hour-and-a-half's drive from Springfield.

To the east of Springfield you will find the Cascade Mountain Range. You will discover places to rock climb, cycle, and even hike on the world renowned Pacific Crest Trail. If you visit in the winter, the Pacific Crest Trail may not be a good idea, but look into winter activities. Take a day trip to Mount Bachelor to ski the slopes.

Between Springfield and Eugene, you have quite a few options for hostels. Because Springfield is further away from most of the popular attractions, you can expect either lower prices or higher quality in Springfield accommodations.
