Russi is located just outside of Bologna and is a small municipality in the region of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Although small, the town is a gorgeous place to visit, bursting with that coveted Italian way of living. The town has been in existence for thousands of years, and is particularly proud of its Roman roots. Besides the amazing pizza and pasta, there is much to enjoy in this region.

In particular, Russi is a town where you will find many places of architectural and archaeological importance from the Roman era. The town surrounds the ruins of a medieval castle, a historical Roman Villa, and the San Giacomo Palace, all magnificent structures of grandeur. Besides these amazing structures, there are also the two local churches, which are both pretty buildings that are of great importance to the town.

You will also find several museums with displays of archaeological discovery, pottery and art from the towns rich cultural history, so if you have an inquisitive mind then you are guaranteed to find something of interest around the town.
