Bridport, a small, seaside town in Tasmania located on the Anderson Bay, is a popular destination for Tasmanian locals to take their holidays or to spend a day at the beach. Hostels in Bridport are located along Main Street and are only a short walk to all of the amenities and shops that you may need during your stay. It is also only a short walk from the beach where you can spend your time lounging about relaxing or you can get involved in some of the more vigorous activities such as canoeing, fishing, and golfing. Just outside of Bridport there is also a Lavender Farm that you can visit.
One of the most impressive aspects of Bridport is the seafood. You can order freshly cooked fish and chips from many of the local fish-and-chip shops around town or you can sample some of the local scallops, lobster, or trout from restaurants around the area. You can also purchase them from the fish-and-chip shop on the wharf if you feel like cooking up a storm. The local regions around Bridport are also well known for their wineries, so there are some nice drops of wine from the local area to sample here as well.
Bridport is also a gateway to Mount William National Park, which is home to some of the most stunning long, white-sand beaches in Tasmania along a very secluded coastline. You will also find an abundance of native wildlife in the park. It's about an hour out of Bridport; you can drive there on a day trip.
