Los Mostros Hostel is a very open and social hostel with lots of common spaces for meeting people.
The Location
Los Mostros Hostel is located in one of the more modern and residential areas of the city. It is within a short walking distance from the main shopping mall and fast food places where you can eat. The private hospital, pharmacy, and public transport systems are also quite easily accessible from here as well, making it easy to get to and from the airport or the the main bus terminal on public transport.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms here are fairly small and they have large-sized lockers in which to keep your valuables if you provide your own lock. The beds are fairly cozy for sleeping and they turn the air conditioning on in the evenings and through the night to make sleeping in the heat a little more comfortable.
There are a few different bathrooms scattered around the hostel. In the mornings, it can be a bit of a nuisance waiting for bathrooms if everyone is trying to use them at once. The water is heated with an electric head, which is also a positive in these parts.
Common Spaces
The common spaces here are the the hostel's biggest draw card. They have a medium-sized kitchen for cooking food and they have all of the utensils you may need for a decent meal. They also have a large lounge room area, where people can watch TV or play video games; it is filled with loads of comfortable couches. There's also the outdoor area with a swimming pool that you can use during the day and loads of tables and chairs where you can hang about. The abundance of open areas to chill out makes it super easy to meet people to hang out with in this hostel.
Summary
This place has a super cool and chilled-out vibe. The staff are really helpful and friendly and they can also help you book tours for around Panama City and to the famous San Blas Islands. It is a cool place if you want to hang out and spend a couple of days in the city to see things, but Panama City itself shouldn't need much more time than that to see.
