Yellow House Hostel is a great, quiet hostel.

The Location

The hostel has an amazing location, right next to the train station. You can move around easily, and it's a pretty safe area as well. About twenty minutes' walk gets you to Laureles, which has bars and restaurant area. There are restaurants close by the hostel. It can be a bit loud with the train, but it's nothing too bothersome.

The hostel is easy to find, and coming home late at night from the train it still feels very safe. There is a gate that is locked, then a gate in front of the door. The front door is locked at night and you need to knock to wake someone up if you're coming home late at night, which feels kind of rude (we don't know why they don't just give out keys). They offer parking in front if necessary.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms here are quite basic overall, but are good enough for a short stay. This hostel has very clean rooms that are very spacious; they offer dorms and privates with private bathrooms. Beds are comfortable, with good pillows; there are lots of blankets if you need them. A little shelf and a chair are found in the room, and these are very comfy; there are hooks on the back of the bathroom door to hang your towel (but no towel is provided). The private bathroom showers are great; we are not sure about the shared showers, but the shared bathrooms are very clean.

Common Spaces

The common areas are very relaxing -- there are hammocks, chairs, and sofas, plus an outdoor garden area where you can sit. There is an eating area as well where you can sit at the table to enjoy the breakfast, which is included. The coffee is great, but there's not a lot of breakfast provided -- it's eggs and toast only. The hostel is quiet overall, with not many people there to converse with.

Summary

Overall, this is a great hostel for the price, with a great location by the metro so you can get anywhere in Medellin quickly. The breakfast is ok, there are not many guests in the hostel, and they have one volunteer, so if you want a quiet place to stay, here is the place. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable as well. There are two dogs in the hostel as well, and they are both very nice. The owners are very nice and can help you with whatever you need. This is a great place for digital nomads if you are looking for a quiet place to work. This place has a great price, a simple breakfast, and simple features.

2 blocks away from "la floresta" metro station,we offer an alternative to the party hostel with a calmer warm and family atmosphere.
Located in a calm residential area, you will find all you need (bars, restaurants, banks and supermarkets) just a 5 minute walk away.

We have 5 private rooms(3 ensuite,2 with shared bathroom)and a 6 beds dorm. Internet wi-fi in the rooms,hot shower and cable TV in privates ensuite.
Breakfast included.
We propose many activities inside and around the city as paragliding, visit of a coffee farm, horse riding, fishing...and all informations about medellin.
We also organize lunch, dinner and barbecues .
Free coffee 24 hours.
Free internet and wi fi in the bedrooms.
Laundry service.
Kitchen and fridge available if you want to cook or keep some food.
we sell drinks,chips,candies,yoghourts...
We proposed for each customer to be picked up at JOSE MARIA CORDOBA airport by a taxi service provided by the hotel(with conditions).
