The Hostelz.com Review
Nomads Hostel is a great little hostel in a house on an historic street in the centre of Veliko Tarnovo. Their motto is "Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend" and we really feel like that is how it happened for us. The atmosphere is homey and very welcoming. All the facilities you need are there -- kitchen, common room, internet access, and a good breakfast. There are guidebooks and info about the town and the area available for reference and the superbly friendly staff will give you a map when you arrive.
The view from the balcony is excellent and the location of the hostel is ideal. It's situated on a quiet street just behind the main shopping area and only a few minutes walk from the fortress. It's easy to reach from the bus or train station, but often, if you can say what time you're arriving, someone from the hostel will pick you up.
We stayed in a six-bed dorm with a bathroom attached. The dorm room and beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean and spacious in typical Balkan style (which means no real shower cubicle, so water generally sprays everywhere -- but that's common in this part of the world!). Veliko Tarnovo is one of Bulgaria's highlights and Nomads Hostel is certainly one of Veliko Tarnovo's highlights!

Excellent Stayed there Sept 14 and 15, 2008. Everything was new and clean. Excellent Breakfast, Internet, and Location. Picked me up and dropped me off at the Train Station.
