Veliko Turnovo is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It has the second largest university in Bulgaria, which gives it a young, vibrant feeling. There is so much history to see.

Hikers Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … Awesome hostel. The facilities are fantastic, the staff become good friends, and the views are to die for. It's in a very convenient location for seeing the sights and there are good restaurants very close by. I can't recommend it highly enough.
The Loft Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … kirsten and alexi (owners) are super friendly people, they both speak english and bulgarian. they showed me the town and took me to a few cool bars, showed the light show on the castle, as well as introducing me to the local raki! the hostel is a great location, beautiful view, clean and comfortable, also a very good price! i really cant say enough good things about it. great for anybody who wants to socialise, have fun, see a beautiful town, and meet some of the locals! recommended.
Hostel Mostel - Veliko Turnovo in Veliko Turnovo … The hostel if a great place to stay. Very nice, clean, close to the fortress and they include a small breakfast and dinner too. Very reasonable! The patio outside in the garden is great! Dinner is served at same time for all the guests that are in. So, it is a great way to meet the fellow travelers. I highly recommend it.
Low Costel Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … We arrived in Veliko Turnovo on a cold Saturday afternoon in February, but after we'd seen the sparkling clean hostel, the stunning view, and of course Graham's friendly and welcoming smile, we felt warm and very welcome. We thought the lockers were very efficient, nice, and big. Something we loved was the individual reading lamps for every bed, excellent idea! The upstairs common area is something to see for yourself. We've never seen quite such a nice common room before and the view from it is surely stunning: a room with a view! Ask Graham about restaurants, he recommended us to one, we went there both evenings, it was the best!
Nomads Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … Nomads is clean, well-maintained, and up-to-date. Fedio, Maria, and Georgi are all very friendly, speak English well, and can provide lots of information about the VT area and elsewhere in Bulgaria. They're working hard to make the hostel even better than it already is. "Fedio's Oasis" (the Nomads balcony) is a great place to sit and watch the sun set over the city.
Nomads Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … Excellent. The owners were helpful and honest, a perfect host. The location is great. The hostel has a fantastic view. In the price is included a very good breakfast.
Hikers Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … I absolutely loved it -- ended up staying about two weeks (summer '06). Stayed in the 'noisy dorm' by the kitchen as sleep soundly but other rooms quieter. Staff are all wonderful in so many different ways. Breakfast was fine and location of hostel good (small cobbled hill though). Town itself is great with beautiful surroundings, hikes, and decent nightlife if you ask the locals. Could get too noisy for some but I, and others i met, rate it amongst the best hostels anywhere. Freshly picked grapes from overhead vines and mastika from the freezer -- priceless.
Nomads Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … The nicest hostel we stayed in on our two-week trip around Bulgaria. Free internet and a good range of music added to the experience. The view from the hostel balcony is lovely. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and make amazing food. It was fairly quiet when we were there (only one or two other guests) but that made it all the more relaxing.
Hikers Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … I liked it very much here. It's more like you're staying in a friend's house than staying in a hostel. The woman who runs the place is really nice and helpful. They also get you from the bus or train station. Breakfast is extraordinarily good and a lot for the price, and everything's clean and nice. No better hostel in Veliko Tarnovo!!!
Low Costel Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … I only wanted to say that that the official review couldn't be more accurate. It's exactly like that. In our case, we met Graham, the owner of the hostel, at the bus station. We didn't have a reservation and he came looking for backpackers to offer us his services. I followed him to the hostel and even though at the beginning I wasn't sure we were going to stay there, once he showed me the rooms I was basically delighted. We had stayed some days in a hotel in Sofia paying approximately twice as much as in Low Costel Hostel, and the hotel simply can't stand the comparison. Low Costel Hostel was just perfect -- extremely comfortable and homey, with wood everywhere, clean as a whistle, and I even wish I had that bathroom at home! If you enjoy the traveling experience, one of the reasons is places like this! If you go to Veliko Tarnovo, I strongly recommend you to check out for Graham.
Hostel Mostel - Veliko Turnovo in Veliko Turnovo … This is a definite cut above the average backpacker hostel -- Assen and his family are eager to make you feel welcome far beyond the call of duty, and the beautiful traditional house is a pleasure to stay in. There a lots of little extras and efforts that show how much they put into making this an extra-special place, and plenty of space to relax in making this a really luxurious treat on the traveling trail. One of the best hostels in Eastern Europe!
Nomads Hostel in Veliko Turnovo … Stayed there Sept 14 and 15, 2008. Everything was new and clean. Excellent Breakfast, Internet, and Location. Picked me up and dropped me off at the Train Station. The hosts were very helpful. A good experience. Try the moonshine.
