Excellent place to stay -- clean, quiet, and well run
I've stayed in this backpackers on two separate occasions -- once in 2006 and once in 2007. I am very impressed by the place. It is very clean, not a party spot, and the owners are very professional. It is also well located -- close to the beach and downtown. The private rooms (with shared bath) are a particularly good deal. Looking forward to returning to the Desert Sky -- and arranging some lie-down sandboarding.

So, so nice.
a really good place to experience Swakopmund from. the owner Lofty is lovely and her assistant is very nice as well and helpful with arranging all kinds of activities (skydiving, sandboarding, all that). I remember one night in front of the fireplace with Biltong and a bottle of wine -- just the best.

Really nice place! Lofty, the owner, is just adorable! Nice Campground, nice rooms, and nice bathrooms! And on cold, foggy nights you just enjoy your evening in front of TV in the living room! I'd definitely go again!
