Getting around was ridiculously easy — trams, metros, and buses were all nearby, and it was super walkable to major spots like Alfama and Bairro Alto.

As a female solo traveler, I felt completely comfortable walking back at night; the streets were lively but not sketchy, and the area is well-lit and filled with cute cafés and little shops.
