Hostal Rocio bnb is a nice and very central place near a bus station (San Sebastián station), perfect to discover the centre of Guatemala City and shop on the Sexta Avenida or on your first day in Guatemala, as they have an airport pickup service.
The Location
The Hostal Rocio is situated in Zona One of Guatemala City, which means you are in the historic centre with easy access to museums, restaurants, bars, and monuments. For instance, the Guatemala Holocaust Museum is two hundred meters from the hostel, and the Palacio Nacional de la Cultura (National Palace of Culture) is four hundred meters from the hostel. You can also find several small shops nearby.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The private rooms and the dorms are clean and comfortable; each one has a fan and as many wall outlets as beds, but the walls are thin and you can hear people next door talking. The Wi-Fi signal does not reach the rooms far from the entrance. The hostel has only three showers, which is not enough, and may result in queues in the morning. They look old, but the water is hot, which is not always the case in Guatemala. One of the bathrooms is so small that you can’t sit on the toilet and close the door if you are tall, and you have to change inside the shower.
Common Spaces
The kitchen is quite small but fully equipped. The hostel has two nice open-air patios (a big one and a smaller one) and a smoking area. The included breakfast is served every morning until 10 on the main patio, and it consists of coffee, fruits, honey, and pancakes. A TV is also available there and it can be bothering to hear it from the dorm. Free lookers are available in the lobby, and you can buy sodas and beers at the reception for a fair price. The reception is open twenty-four hours a day and the hostel has laundry facilities.

Thanks to its central location, the Hostal Rocio is an ideal place to discover the capital city of Guatemala after a huge breakfast of pancakes and to relax in a homestay atmosphere after a day of shopping in the Sexta Avenida.

• How to reach us:
• Taxi:
• From the airport, you must take a taxi. We are locate a block away from the San Sebastian transmetro station. You should not charge more than $ 13. We have pick-up service for the same price and better comfort.
• Bus:
• The most common way to travel is by bus. The green Volvo buses that run through the city are Transmetro; they have dedicated lanes. They stop at certain stations, which are guarded by police, and drivers do not carry money. The blue and white buses are Trans urbano; these drivers don’t carry money either and fare is paid by prepaid SIGA cards. The cards must be purchased at designated customer service centers. The regular red city buses run all over the city on fixed routes and basically stop where ever a passenger request.
