If you arrive in Miami at the Miami International Airport, there are a lot of options to get to your chosen hostel by bus or other public transportation. Just be aware that there is no night public transportation and going by taxi is very expensive, even if you are in a group of several people.
All Miami Beach hostels offer similar prices with a few exceptions and are not very far from the beach. Also, some hostels are quite liberal and promote themselves as party places, so choose one of those if you're there to party. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, than look for a quieter hostel.
