Brackley Beach is a small town on the northern coast of Prince Edward Island and around a forty-minute drive from Charlottetown. To get here, you should have your own car or mode of transport as there is minimal public transport to get around on the island.
Your options for hostels in Brackley Beach will be off the main road. The town itself is quite spread out and you will find no food or supplies stores here, so you will need to find a town over from this one to get your supplies. The town of Brackley Beach does, however, have a drive-in movie theater and mini golf.
Just outside of Brackley Beach, you will find some of the major attractions on the island. The most popular of these attractions is the Anne of Green Gables house, used to inspire the setting for the famous novels by L. M. Montgomery. The house is stunning and well worth a visit. The Prince Edward Island National Park is also scattered along the northern coast with three different facets to the park. The Brackley part of the park is located a very short drive from your Brackley Beach hostel and from the Anne of Green Gables house.
While you are in this area, explore the region and make sure you stop in at the Cows Ice Creamery if you happen to see one -- the ice cream there was voted the best ice cream in the world. There is also a PEI dirt shirt factory within the area that you can visit for free and see how they use the famous red soil to dye the shirts.
