Keds. Hostel & Coffee House Reviews

Keds. Hostel & Coffee House is our favorite hostel in Moscow and we highly recommend staying here if you get a chance. The atmosphere is great and the stay is both comfortable and fun. They manage to create a cool yet friendly and laid-back atmosphere and we were actually sad to leave.

The Location

Keds. Hostel is conveniently located on a main street, not too far from the Paveletsky Rail Terminal, and there is also a metro station nearby. It is a bit further from the city center than other hostels, but the area is quiet yet trendy. There is a little shop, a bank, and some cafes nearby. It's especially great if you're coming or leaving from the Domodedovo Airport, as the airport train leaves from Paveletsky Station.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms are pretty and look neat and well taken care of. There isn't much space for bags and suitcases, but there are are medium-sized lockers in the rooms, so you can lock your things away while leaving your main luggage in the luggage room (which you can also use to store your bags after you check out). It's a bit inconvenient, but gives the room an aesthetic look. There are pretty comfortable capsule-style beds, with a light and power outlet. Clean, soft linen as well as towels are provided. There are separate toilets and showers and they are convenient and clean and there are enough of them so you won't have to wait in line.

Common Spaces

The hostel has a little cafe in the lobby; it is very small, but they do make quality coffee. Hostel guests are welcome to a complimentary drink, which is sweet. There are a few tables and even a swing! It's not much, but it's cozy and there is a cool nineties design as well as music playing. We really love the atmosphere here. Everyone -- owners, staff and guests alike -- is chill and friendly. There isn't a real kitchen, sadly, but there is a microwave and hot water. So beyond very basic things you can't really cook here. There is free Wi-Fi.

Summary

While it's not the most spacious hostel, and the common facilities could be more developed, we feel like it's one of the friendliest establishments we've visited in Russia. The location is great, the price is great, and they are flexible and work hard to keep the place in good shape and the guests happy. We can't wait to return!
