The best hostel I've stayed in, the rooms were so nicely laid out, comfortable and just a great space. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the hostel overall was just such a good vibe!

Such a lovely hostel! The room I was sharing was very comfortable and the staff were amazing! I think my only nit pick would be I think they may need more variety of their breakfast.

I absolutely love it!!!!!

One of the best atmospheres Ive experienced at a hostel, the people were great! Breakfast was unreliable unfortunately which really let them down given it was included in the price and one of the reasons I chose to stay. Good location, area is a little dodgy at night but fine to walk around during the day. Cleanliness was very good, towels were very small but manageable. All round very good Hostel and would recommend especially for solo travellers looking to make friends.

It was wonderful. One of the best hostels I have lived in. The staffs are friendly and helpful. I had a great time.

Spend the extra 20 a night to get a place closer to the center. All they have is a bar and a small common area that gets very busy. I work online and it was difficult as well as the wifi wasnt that great. Area is not the greatest. But the place was very clean and very college dorm aesthetic. They said we would get a city view, and it was the wall of the Popeyes next door. Also, everything in the area closes super early.

Really enjoyed my time at the Quisby. The staff and people were really friendly spent lots of time sat in the bar til the early hours of the morning drinking, chatting playing games and singing. I would highly recommend The Quisby and for if Im ever to return to New Orleans I shall look to make a return to The Quisby.

So fresh and so CLEAN CLEAN!

I highly recommend!

Nice place, nice 4bed dorm room, friendly and helpful reception/bar staff, great breakfast of assorted bagel, pastries, cereals etc. Easy ride on streetcar through to French Qtr, and beyond, which runs till early. Only issues, I had to ask cleaners (twice) to remove all the dirty towels piled up on floor, and in bathroom, from previous guests. Also the dorm floor was positively filthy, not mopped in 3months for sure. I walked the 5 steps to bathroom and back a couple times, feet totally black!

Everyone that works there is a slice of heaven.

The guest tend to be pretty cool as well.

A perfect hostel for a female traveler! It was safe, clean, and a really comfortable atmosphere. The staff was incredible. They welcomed me and made me feel at home! Great location and really nice value for the price. Modern design, but still has character. Also, the bar is impressive and a great place to meet new friends! I really liked the female dorm - it's a way to meet other girls and to feel safe. Would definitely recommend the Quisby and would stay here again in a heartbeat :)

After a few months of travelling around the US, The Quisby was exactly what I needed. Super friendly staff, schmick rooms, vibing bar with great bloody marys and a few steps from the street car ride to the action.

The position is strategic because is in between theGarden district and the French quarter. It is served by the street cart but it is a little dangerous at night.

The room is ok, but not particularly comfortable (I had a private room).

The worst aspect was the staff. Completely unhelpful and not respectful of the lines. This makes the hostel completely unwelcoming, lacking the typical atmosphere which I found in many hostels in my life.

The price for a private room is incredibly high.

Location is great and you cant beat the price! However, the rooms are set up a little different than other hostels ive been to. And what I mean by that is the bathrooms and sink are in the rooms and theres only one per room. So when youre trying to sleep, someone could be doing their hair/makeup and showering. Also, staff was a little disorganized at check in (night shift) but morning staff was great and theres free breakfast and a free compliment drink at the bar!

Great hostel. Great location. Will stay here again for sure and recommend it to everyone.

I had a great time, the staff was super kind and the place is really nice. The complimentary breakfast and coffee is something that sat well with me, however if youre staying for a while prepare accordingly since there is only a microwave. No worries right next door are Wendys and Popeyes and a Walmart (where you can purchase microwaveable meals) is not far away either. Also, the streetcar is right in front of the hostel but dont worry, I had no trouble with traffic noise!

Very good!

The staff are super cool, and helpful when i had to fix something with my bank acount.

Breakfastquality is not the highest, but you get some food, coffee and fresh water.

I had some severely delayed flights so having someone at the desk 24hrs made coordinating late night travel super easy.

Very chill vibe, friendly people, and clean room.

Hostel owner was an amazing lady. We arrived late at night & she gave us free beers to cool off.

Rooms & toilets are spacious. Major attractions are within walking distance.

Great location, super friendly staff, nice and clean rooms, and a great bar/hang-out area downstairs. I really liked staying here a lot and will certainly be back!

Location and Contact

• From the Airport:
• For getting to The Quisby from the airport, we recommend a taxi. The rate is $36 for one or two people, and $15 per person for three or more. There is a taxi stand right outside the baggage claim area. A taxi takes around 30 minutes.
• If you are traveling alone and want to save a little money, you can take the Airport Shuttle. The cost is $24 each way or $44 for a round trip. This usually takes between one hour and 90 minutes each way. The shuttle needs to be reserved at least 24 hours in advance through their website.
• If you’re on a budget, you can take the Jefferson Transit E2 Bus to downtown. This bus is available Monday through Friday from 05:37 to 18:14. Another option (your only option if you arrive on a weekend) is the NORTA 202 Bus (see below) although it runs much less frequently. Buses pickup from upstairs near the arrivals area. The cost is $2. It drops you off at the corner of Tulane Ave and Loyola Ave. From Tulane and Loyola you can walk, which takes about 25 minutes, or transfer to the St. Charles Ave Streetcar. To walk, go down Tulane Ave towards the river. After one block it becomes Common St, keep walking for another 4 blocks. Once you get to St. Charles Ave, turn right onto St. Charles Ave and walk one mile until you reach the Quisby, 1225 St. Charles Ave, located on St. Charles Ave between Clio St and Erato St. To take the streetcar, follow the same directions but stop walking when you reach St. Charles Ave. The Streetcar stop is in front of the Royal St. Charles Hotel. They run 24 hours a day (but less frequently at night than during the day). You will get off at Erato Street, approximately 6 stops.
• If your flight arrives on a Saturday or Sunday, you can catch the NORTA 202 Bus from the Airport to Union Passenger Terminal. Buses pickup from upstairs near the arrivals area. The 202 bus runs every day at 06:10, 06:30, 07:30, 08:00, 14:10, 15:50, 17:00, and 19:00. The cost is $1.25. For directions from Union Passenger Terminal to The Quisby, see below.
• From Union Train Station:
• Walk down Howard Avenue 4 blocks to Lee Circle. At Lee Circle, take a right onto St. Charles Avenue and walk 3 blocks to arrive at our front door.
• Driving Directions:
• New Orleans is a walking city so we do not recommend renting a car if you are flying in. However, if you are driving in, you can reach us by taking the Carondelet Street Exit from I-10 and then turning right at St. Charles Ave. After one block, you will see us on your right. We do not offer parking. Free street parking is available nearby but it is up to you to observe posted signs to avoid being ticketed or towed. There are also paid lots located nearby. The front desk can provide additional information if needed.
