Funk House BackPackers Hostel is a friendly hostel ideal for the budget backpackers in Sydney. The Location
Built in a three-story building, the hostel is located on Darlinghust Street, one of the main avenues in Kings Cross neighborhood. Just on the corner with a small vivid alley, the hostel sits in the heart of one of the oldest and most intriguing neighborhoods in Sydney.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants a few steps from the hostel's entrance, and two big supermarkets along the avenue. The Kings Cross train station, right next to the hostel, will connect you to the main big stations that will let you move all around the Sydney area. There is also some available parking around the hostel area.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Dorms are small and simple, with four beds divided in two double bunks, four lockers, and a fan. Beds are quite comfortable, and each one has its own socket, which is extremely convenient to charge your phone through the night. Rooms are also key-locked, which provides extra safety. There are a few private rooms available on the second floor.
There are two bathrooms in each floor -- one for women and one for men -- which include two toilets and four showers, without much private space and you pretty much have to change yourself inside the shower space, which is big enough. They are cleaned several times a day, so cleanliness is usually guaranteed.
Common Spaces
The main meeting area is on the first floor, where you can find the TV room, kitchen, and dining space. It creates an ideal space for travelers to know each other and meet new friends. The kitchen is well equipped, with multiple stoves and plenty of cutlery and fridge room. The TV room provides a good entertainment source with free Netflix and multiple TV channels.
On the third floor you can find the rooftop, which offers a cozy environment in which to drink some beers with friends or even cook some dinner on the BBQ. It is on this floor where the washing machines and dryers are also located; there is a per-load charge to use them.

Funk House BackPackers is definitely one of the best choices for backpackers in Sydney if you want a cheap place to stay with good vibe that makes it easy for travelers to meet each other. Its wonderful location and the good friendships that you can build here will make you want to stay longer!
