Generator Stockholm, part of the international hostel chain Generator Hostels, is a huge hostel in Stockholm, Sweden. Prices depend on the season and the day, but it often has one of the cheaper hostel beds with a good rating. However, due to the hostel's policy, it is likely that the costs increase quickly and you end up spending more than initially foreseen.
The Location
Generator Stockholm is well located in Stockholm's city centre, about five hundred meters from Stockholm's central station; Stockholm's Old Town (Gamla Stan) or the shopping district are up to twenty minutes' walking from the hostel. Generator Stockholm is situated in a tall building and the hostel fills the entire building. There are several big signs on the building's walls and above the entrance indicating the hostel. A convenience store is located opposite the hostel.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Generator Stockholm is a huge hostel and has many different kinds of rooms. Both private and dorm rooms are offered. Dorm rooms come in different sizes, including some for women only. The rooms look nice and all dorms consist of bunk beds. Each bed has an individual plug and locker. You will need to bring your own padlock. Some of the sheets are a bit worn out, but it's not too bad. All rooms are en suite. Bathrooms are brightly decorated. The hostel has a relatively early check-out time of 10 a.m.
Common Spaces
There are two common spaces in the hostel. One is downstairs at the hostel, which is a cafe at the same time. You do not have to order anything, but you can if you want. However, the hostel has the policy that you can not bring any food or drinks by yourself into the hostel. The hostel does not have a kitchen or free coffee or tea, so if you want to eat anything you will have to go out or order something from the hostel. The same goes for drinks.
There is also a common area on the first floor. This has a more relaxed atmosphere with some couches. Meeting rooms can be rented here too. If you want to store your luggage after check-out time, you can rent a locker. Depending on the size of the luggage, this costs an extra fee. There is no possibility to store your luggage for free.
Summary
Generator Stockholm is a good hostel in Stockholm's city centre. Facilities are good and the price per bed is relatively cheap. However, the hostel's policy will make you spend more money than initially foreseen, so don't let yourself be fooled by the cheap price online.

• Fastest journey is to take the Arlanda Express directly to Stockholm Central Station.
• You can also take the airport shuttle - Flygbussarna, or take the public transport from Arlanda C
• From the Central Station:
• It is just a 10 minute walk down Vasagatan in the direction of Norra Bantorget. Cross the Norra Bantorget park and follow along Torsgatan.
