Adamson Lodge is a very budget-friendly hostel in Singapore.

The Location

Adamson Lodge is located close to Little India in Singapore, opposite Rochor MRT Station (Exit B); it's very easy to locate, as Adamson Lodge is printed on the outside walls and entrance door. The hostel is about a fifteen-minute walk from Queen Street, and with many food centres and shopping malls nearby, Adamson Lodge's location is very convenient.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are four dormitory rooms at Adamson Lodge -- twelve- and sixteen-bed dormitories, and six- and eight-bed family rooms. Each of the four rooms has a different combination lock and every bed has its own locker. The beds are all single-bunk beds; one of the beds in the sixteen-bed bed dormitory is a double-bed bunk. The only real negative about the rooms is that there are no curtains attached to the beds and at night the emergency exit light is very bright.

All rooms are en suite with two bathrooms with showers and one urinal. The bathrooms are big enough in which to get dressed and they have enough hooks on which to hang your clothes. The showers are enclosed and are very good, with hot water and good pressure.

Common Spaces

The common area isn't very big at Adamson Lodge; it's right by all the rooms, which doesn't make it a good place to socialise at night if people are sleeping. There is one sofa and a desk with chairs, with hot water and free coffee to drink all day. The common space has book exchange and also a lot of leaflets on activities to do in Singapore. There is no kitchen and neither a TV nor computers in the common room, however they do provide luggage storage for guests. The Wi-Fi is extremely good in the common area but does weaken in the dormitories.

Summary

It's a popular stay with all beds occupied majority of the time, since it is a very budget-friendly hostel. This hostel is relatively new and is situated very conveniently with easy access to major tourist attractions. It's more the staff that work here that make your stay very enjoyable here. They are extremely friendly and helpful at the front desk and are always offering treats of local delicacies to guests.
