Dream Lodge in Singapore is an excellent little hostel, located close to public transport, as well as a few markets and a mall.

The Location

While the hostel is not located in one of the more popular, touristy locations, it is conveniently located near an MRT station. This makes it easily accessible from the airport, as well as the Marina Bay area. There is street parking available, however renting a car in Singapore is prohibitively expensive, and public transport as well as ride services such as Grab provide better options.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The dorm rooms are very clean and modern. The beds are not actual bunk beds, but rather individual pods in which mattresses are placed. They are thus very sturdy and there is no risk of disturbing other guests while getting in and out of bed. The pods are closed with curtains, which give privacy, and the bedding is very comfortable and clean. Each pod has a little lamp, as well as outlets for charging electronics.

There are both fans and air conditioning in the rooms, which ensure that you'll get a good night's sleep, even in the worst of the Singapore summer.

The bathrooms are modern and are kept clean and in good shape. Each one is a little individual washroom, with a toilet, sink, and a shower area. The water pressure is good and there is plenty of room to store your clothes away while taking a shower.

Common Spaces

There is a common space on the ground floor, with several tables, a TV, and a little kitchen area. While we visited the hostel, there were not many people using it outside of the breakfast time or while checking in or out. It is however a welcoming area, and the lack of people with which to socialize might have only been dependent on the guests staying at that time, not the atmosphere of the hostel.

Summary

Dream Lodge is a small, quiet hostel in SIngapore that is perfect for a few nights' sleep. It is not a very social hostel, so it may be a little difficult to meet people; however, if you only need a good bed in a clean room in an easily accessible area of town, it's perfect.

• 1. From Changi Airport - Taking the MRT (Duration : 30mins)
• a) Board the train at Changi Airport towards Tanah Merah Station
• b) Alight at Tanah Merah Station and board the train towards Joo Koon and alight at Lavender MRT.
• c) Take Exit B, and walk into Horne Road to the end of road and turn right into Tyrwhitt Road
• 2. From Changi Airport - Taking the Taxi
• Taxis are available at the taxi stands at the arrival levels of each terminal. The duration from Changi Airport to DreamLodge Hostel should take approximately 20 minutes, and cost between $20 to $40. All taxis in Singapore are metered and please be cautioned that there is an airport surcharge for all trips departing from the airport.
• The surcharge are as follows;
• SGD$5 surcharge - 5.00pm to 12.00am (Fridays to Sundays)
• SGD$3 surcharge - all other times
• Midnight surcharge - 50% of final metered fare, 12am to 6am daily.
