Oki Doki CITY Hostel Reviews

Oki Doki Hostel is a popular and stylish hostel in the middle of Warsaw. The price is reasonable but definitely not the cheapest option available. Breakfast is not included but can be bought at an additional price (which is quite expensive).

The Location

The hostel is located very close to the Swietokrzyska metro station (about a five-minute walk). However, it can be a little hard to find, since it shares a building with a bank. The sign for the hostel is also on the side of the building, which leads you to the back entrance instead of the front. The hostel is in a good quiet neighborhood, and is conveniently located between the Warsaw central train station (about a ten-minute walk) and the Old Town square (about a twenty-minute walk). It is also very close to main attractions such as the Palace of Culture and Science.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms are very well kept and clean, plus each room has its own theme. The bathrooms (communal for dorms) are extremely clean and gender-specific. The mattresses and blankets are not the best, and there is not too much space in the dorm rooms aside from the beds. There are lockers outside for storage and every dorm room is locked (you're provided with a key when checking in). A deposit for the key is required, though, so make sure you don't lose your key!

Common Spaces

The common spaces include a common space next to the staff counter, a kitchen/dining area, and a bar area. The whole hostel is well decorated; the theme appears to be orange -- everything (including the walls) is orange, which can be a bit shocking to the eyes. There are also lots of art decorations and paintings throughout the hostel. The bar area is usually crowded and quite noisy. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel, and there are also two stations of three computers each for guests.

Overall, this is a good hostel for anyone visiting Warsaw; it's got a great location combined with a trendy setting and friendly staff always willing to help. It is not the cheapest hostel, however, and does not include breakfast, and toiletries and laundry are very expensive compared to other hostels as well.

All good. Though wish they had soap in shower booths which are a bit too crampy.

Great Hostel for Solo Travelers

I have stayed in the Oki Doki more than once, and it has always been a really great experience. It's an extremely social atmosphere and there are lots of solo travelers and people who want to go out for dinner or drinks from the hostel happy hour. The staff are very friendly and helpful and everything is clean and well maintained. The hostel is very close to the Old Town and the Palace of Culture and Science although it's a little tricky to find because of the construction in the city at the moment. The one downside would be the heat; the lack of AC or fans makes it a little difficult to sleep, but that's a small flaw. Overall, I'd recommend the Oki Doki to anyone traveling to Warsaw. It's exactly what I hope all hostels will be like.

Nice hostel in good location

Very friendly and helpful staff; the female dorms are all in a wing next to the reception area. They have free towels when you ask. The showers were a bit cramped, and wifi was on and off in the room -- out in the common area it was fine. They have lots of stuff going like beer tasting and pub crawls, and information about walking tours, so it is really easy to meet people. About 10 minutes walk from Warszawa Centralna train station.

The best hostel I have been to

Excellent location, friendly staff, very good rooms given the price.

Great stay

This was the most fun hostel of my 2 month journey through Poland and Germany. The staff was very helpful to answer any questions and give information. I met a lot of wonderful travelers here, which made for a really good time. The rooms were comfortable, clean and secure and I would highly recommend for a visit to Warsaw. The only drawback is the construction on the street out front, making it rather difficult to get to, but this is only temporary.

Excellent location

Very good hostel in an excellent location in Warsaw, close to Train Station, Old Town, as well as the royal parks. It is situation above a bank, which has a 24 hour security guard, so you feel perfectly safe. The staff all were very friendly even when you arrive five hours before you are supposed to be checking in. The bedroom was clean with plenty of space, and there was plenty of showers/toilets so no need to ever have to queue. The bar was a little crowded/small, seemed to shut rather early (11pm) and a was a little smoky, but the beer was cheap (7 zloty for 2 during happy hour) and they showed the football, so can have no complaints.

We had an awesome time in this hostel!

Oki Doki is presumably one of the best hostels i stayed. Excellent Location, we could walk everything easily during our stay. Excellent sleeping conditions. Bed and sheets were really good, nice temperature, and silent surroundings. The bar is small and cosy, a bit smoky but a friendly environment with friendly staff. I can recommend this hostel to everybody.

OkiDoki in addition to its perfect location looks like modern art gallery. It is created especially for all the individualists. We made it as the place, we were dreaming about while travelling - Nice, cozy and fun when you need and with facilities which help.
We have transferred an old comunist Ministry of Agriculture building into a hostel. There is an enormous stairway inside and the building is now painted inside in deep orange!
We are backpakers friendly with stupid things like CURFEW, no LOCKOUT and no early morning CHECKOUT time. There are lockers in each dorm.
Our guests can enjoy our extraordinary interior design. Each room has been designed through a separate artistic project in different styles, by different artists or friends. We even call it the Art Hostel. We aim to please the individualistic, those who like to be treated in their own way – personally and individually. Instead of being numbered, each of the rooms has their own name.

We are located in the very, very centre with 6 out of 10 BEST CLUBS within 5 minutes to walk, but on a quiet square bordered with chestnut trees.

COMMON places will satisfy everyoneand let you rest comfortable, additionaly a PUB, you can HAVE the cheapiest BEER in town or watch TV or DVD from our great collection. We ARE MUCH BETTER than other basic hostels in town. Our doubles are nicer then those in hotel chains, and their bathroom are nicer then in the most of 4 stars hotels. Our aim is to satisfy our backpaking society and to give much more for the price of a hostel. The hostel is owned and managed by a family of keen and experienced backpakers, we know those little differences which helps. The people who work here are young, and have extensive knowledge of Warsaws history and places to visit and party whilst you are on your stay.
