Vila 11 is a cozy hostel in Bucharest, with a convenient location and a homey feel that serves as a good base for exploring the city.
Though the neighborhood is not very picturesque, the location is convenient. Vila 11 is located a few hundred meters from the Nord train station, with two large supermarkets close by. The walk into old town is definitely manageable, and the public transportation system is inexpensive and easy to navigate.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel is a house, and the rooms are smaller, like bedrooms. There are several floors, each housing several rooms. The dormitories are cozy, with enough outlets, but not always strategically placed. The rooms are clean, but not meticulous, with sheets and towels provided. The bunk beds can be a bit challenging to get into, as they do not always have ladders, making the top bunk difficult to access. Without air conditioning or fans in the rooms, it can get quite hot in the summer, even at night. There are no locks on the room doors, and there are no lockers in the rooms. However, the reception is twenty-four hours, and the front door is locked at night. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hostel. The internet speeds are not lightning fast, but good enough.
The bathrooms have a toilet and shower in the same room, kept clean by the staff. There are no hooks for clothes or towels, and counter space is limited. However, soap is provided to each resident, and the water is hot with good pressure. There can sometimes be a wait for the bathroom if the hostel is full.
Vila 11 is the owner's house, and it feels quite homey. There are family photos on the walls and knick-knacks in every corner. The owners are quick to welcome guests and make them feel at home by chatting, offering suggestions about the area, and being available for whatever needs might arise.
While there is no decent lounge for residents to relax and mingle, there are several small sitting areas throughout the hostel and a patio out back. There is a specific room where breakfast is served to guests, and where coffee and tea are available all day. Breakfast is available at no charge, and consists of freshly made pancakes, butter, jam, cheese, and bread. There is a tiny kitchen with a sink and a burner that is available for guests to use, but is too small for more than one person to cook at a time.
Vila 11 is a cozy and inexpensive place to stay in Bucharest. Located near the train station, it’s easily accessible and not too far from the center of the city. With breakfast included, Vila 11 is a good value option for travelers.

pretty basic for its rather high price, no place to hang out with other occupants other than the breakfast table in the morning and a very arrogant/unfriendly boy at the reception. don't expect internet or tv (didn't bother me that much but is kinda standard nowadays). the atmosphere is familiar if you get along with their brats. all in all i wouldn't recommend it.
The hospitality rating is twelve stars! We were made to feel like family. The house is slowly being renovated and the convenience to train, metro, internet cafe, and downtown Bucharest is hard to beat. At the moment, there are no accomodations for elderly or handicapped. That being said, all ages of travelers are welcome at this family-run hostel. We'd definitely stay there again. If you want to experience the "real" Romania, begin your travels here. They will even meet you at the airport!
Old house and very dirty. They cheated the price for airport transfer and guided tour. Beware of that. Security is very low.
They are a very nice family. They were helpful with doing my laundry (no extra fee), giving advice for our travel itinerary and their son even helped me not get cheated by a taxi driver. They really tried to be helpful. The room and accommodations were fine.
Excellent value, very welcoming, clean and comfortable. It's not luxurious but it feels like home and in fact IS a home, but you never feel like you're intruding. It's very handy for the train station, and it's not a bad walk into the city from here. All in all, it's a great place to stay on a budget.
