WOW Amsterdam Hostel Reviews

Good service, clean rooms, dirty bathrooms though ...

Away from the centre but it's easy to get there once you know the directions. Good Dutch breakfast different kinds of bread and milk, also coffee and orange juice. Room is spacious and clean, good mattress, super fast WIFI throughout the whole building. It's a building also with art, the name is WOW but you pronounce it WAUW.

Solid choice

I was pleasantly surprised, the rooms are really great. funky colours, large room with plenty of natural light and good view. Nice en suite separate toilet and shower. The bed frame was amazing, sturdy and the mattress, doona, and pillow -- truly comfy. WiFi was good both inside the room and lobby. Breakfast had a good selection. The staff was ok, there are inconsistencies on service, some were professional and friendly, others slightly rude (receptionist just gave me an arrival card and walked off on me without a word). Location is ideal if you are leaving by bus, but a bit far from the city center, public transport is required (24hr ticket is 7.50). hostel in general is very large and therefore a bit hard to meet people, but great if you go as a group or if you need a good nights sleep. Price is good, facilities clean, I would recommend it to the right crowd.

WOW Amsterdam Hostel Reviews from the Web

Perfect!! Would definitely be my stay in the other times I am visiting Amsterdam.

Very peaceful, the staffs are such nice and helpful people.

The bathrooms are better than in my own house!

Very clean hostel and staff are helpful. Just be aware that there are a lot of families with small children living in the same building. Hostel is in a residential neighbourhood so it is pretty far from the city centre and all attractions.

It was very good experience. The staffs are kind and helpful. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and affordable.

Staff instead of being helpful rather had an attitude, they should find another job that suits them better.

Really cool building and rooms. Bunk beds are very tall but lots of room. Not a great breakfast selection so only used it once while I stayed there.

The hostel is a little far away from the centre but a 10 minute walk to the main road there is a tram that takes you right into the centre and with a 24-hour pass on public transport it made it really easy. By the tram stop, there is also a local supermarket so we were able to grab some food. The lockers were nice and big just bring a lock!

The place is ok for the money. The staff isnt very friendly but its helpful. They only issue is that I asked a guy on a night shift to help me make the microwave work and was no help at all. Not happy with the idea of having to purchase a plastic fork from the vending machine either to eat my dinner. The location feels a bit unsafe if you are a woman travelling alone as it gets dark early and the walk down from the tram stop is very lonely. The rooms are clean so are the toilets.

They have bed bugs in the rooms and I couldnt sleep. The staff didnt even apologize when I told them in the morning. dont ruin your trip with going to this hostel.

Please don't visit this place. Staff are very rude and we were waiting 40 minutes to check-in.

On the other hand, the location is very far and it doesn't have good transport connections. We returned to the hostel in taxi.

Nice quiet hostel. Is out of the city center, closer to the airport but you can access the city center by a short tram ride. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean and the bedrooms are spacious.

1. Inconvenience to guest coming in the morning.

2. Weak Internet Connection, since people come from different countries, a good internet is required, unfortunately it did not work at all in the morning and I struggled a lot.

3. Location on clearly mentioned in the mail. It's very confusing for people coming for the first time to the city.

4. In summers, it's unbearable to sit in the dorm.

5. Bathrooms not up to the mark.

6. For one night 37 euro is too expensive for the facilities provided.

The morning staff is sometimes cross but night staff is generally good. It is far from Amsterdam city centre, but pretty close to Amsterdam Sloterdijk train station (and where Megabus and other buses stop). It is of quite good value - the breakfast is good. One major problem is that it has too many rooms but only 2 wifi system with pretty limited number of connection - don't expect to connect to it before midnight and after 9am. The shower room is also quite inconvenient too.

A very large and clean hostel. It was really far from the center of the city so public transit was a must. Although that wasn't a problem as it was close to a tram station.

The hostel is a bit outside the city centre but easy to reach with public transportation. The bus/tram stops are a 10-minutes-walk away. Wifi was fine (sometimes better, sometimes worse). There are linen on the bed and a little towel for everyone. All in all a nice place to stay.

It was very clean and staff was super friendly. The tram stops are not too far away to walk to.

I thought this hostel was exceptional. Very spacious. massive reception area. Well sized rooms. Brilliant value. A little bit out of the way but easy walk to main railway line, tram routes. Highly recommended.

Staff was extremely rude. Bathroom floor was literally covered in hair.

good, convinient and afforable & accessible

I thought the place was exceptional. 10 m9nute walk from train station, 5 to tram so well connected. Very spacious, friendly staff. Highly recommended

The staff are excellent, location isn't too bad - not in the centre but very easy to get to the centre regardless.

The one thing missing in the room was a chair or something to put your bag or jacket - there are no hangers neither -
