Funk Lounge Hostel is a well-priced hostel with very social atmosphere, which is great for solo travelers. The dorms and private rooms are spacious and have large windows. The hostel has a full-service restaurant and offers a free welcome shot to guests. There are also common areas to relax as well as a full kitchen.
The Location
The location is very easy to find as it is right off of the main street and has very clear signs on the restaurant and hostel. It is located between Maksimire Park and the main square. It is a about a ten-minute tram ride to most museums, pub street, and Zagreb Cathedral. There is parking available for those who have cars. There are several options for cafes and restaurants near the hostel, as it is it located along the main tram line.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are large and include a private bathroom. The dorms range from four- to six-person dorms. There are several options of private rooms as well. They include electronic keys for the door along with separate locker keys. The reception is operated twenty-four hours a day with a storage facility available. Small towels are provided at no extra charge and beds come fully prepared. The rooms are cleaned daily. The Wi-Fi works sufficiently in the rooms. The rooms include desks for those who need to get work done while traveling.
Common Spaces
Upstairs common areas have a great amount of natural light with large windows. The kitchen has two fridges and all other appliances for cooking. The restaurant is next door to the hostel and offers outdoor and indoor seating. The restaurant menu has a variety of dishes, which also cater to vegetarians. The pricing for the menu is very reasonable for a backpacker budget. A full laundry service is available.
Summary
This is a great place to meet people and hang out. The staff are very nice and will help provide information on any activity of interest. Even though it has a restaurant and bar next door, the rooms stay pretty quiet. There are very few negative points in general. Some may want a hostel inside the center of the city, but public transportation is low cost and easy to use in Zagreb. Overall, this is the place to come if you are looking for a social experience but not a complete party hostel.

• Take a tram number 4 (direction DUBEC), and get off on the 8th station (Masiceva). Once there, continue along Maksimirska street until you see the 'Dublin Pub' and a huge 'dm' sign on a building across the street on your left side. Then cross the street and you'll find us in the 15 story building behind the 'Dublin Pub', right next to the Mlinar bakery and a hair saloon.
• From main bus station:
