Incredible Hostel Experience
La Banda Hostel is deservedly the number one ranked hostel in all of Sevilla. The location is great, right in the heart of the city. The facilities are top notch, private beds with curtains, and very clean. The rooftop is an incredible touch that provides a great expierence to meet people and drink some great Spanish beer, and enjoy some delicious dinner. The staff really tie it all together though. Julian, Nico, Pepa, Andrea, and Athena are down to earth locals who connect you with the city and really make your expierence something else. If you can book this place, 11/10 recommend it!
One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at
This was the second time that I have stayed at La Banda and it is by far one of the best of hostels I've ever stayed at. The boys who own the hostel are so welcoming and friendly and willing to help out in every way possible. The interior design of the hostel is quirky and cool and doesn't feel clinical at all, but comfortable and somewhere where you want to spend your time. The kitchen is so well equipped and the breakfast in the morning is delish. The rooms are spacious and have all the facilities you need -- individual plugs for charging, bed lights, shelves, and curtains to shut you off from the rest of the room as well as large lockers under the bed. The bathrooms are really clean and just generally nice. The bar and rooftop upstairs has an amazing view of the cathedral and really cheap drinks. Family dinners every night are delicious and a great way of meeting people at the hostel. The location is fantastic and I can't think of one negative thing I'd say about this hostel. I've recommended a lot of my friends to stay here, and I know I'll be back again.
The Location
The location of the hostel is absolutely wonderful. Located right in the city center, very nearby everything you have to visit when traveling to Seville. It's easy to access from the airport with a bus, staff gladly helps you out in case of any problems or if you have any questions. But if you prefer a taxi, there are taxis waiting not too far of a walk from the hostel. The neighborhood is safe and lovely to walk around in. The hostel is located in a one-way street so parking might be a bit more difficult to find. It's bit of a hidden gem to find at first, but there's a clear "La Banda" sign on the outside. Security is perfect since you have to buzz yourself in, before one of the staff members can open the door.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorms are nice and although some of them are a bit small, there is (more than) enough space to move around in. Some dorms have bathrooms connected to the dorms, others don't but this is not an issue. There are lockers available, you do have to bring your own lock. The shower works perfectly fine. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily. You can borrow towels from the reception, for free. Wifi is free and works, however you might have to be a bit patient at times.
Common Spaces
There's a kitchen upstairs, a rooftop where they serve meals every evening, with the prettiest view over Seville, for only a few euros and there's a common area you walk in as soon as you enter the hostel. The common area is perfect to meet other backpackers, as well as the rooftop pool. Breakfast is served every day, for free, in the downstairs common area. It's a perfect hostel for solo-travelers since you will meet people. They also organize free city-trips, fun bar crawls and more. There's space to keep your luggage even after you have checked out. There are more than enough outlets to be found both in the common area downstairs as well as in the rooms. Wifi works perfectly fine in the common space.
Summary
This hostel is absolutely wonderful and deserves all the nice reviews it's getting. The staff is kind and helpful, it's a clean and safe place. There are tons of activities organized in the hostel and you will get plenty of chances to meet new people. If you're looking for a cheap, lovely, clean & fun place to stay at while visiting one of Spain's most beautiful cities, look no further!
Awesome hostel and great staff
I was here for 10 nights and had a great time. The staff cooks dinner every night for 6 euros (including a drink). The dinners are always amazing and not your typical cheap pasta. The owners are all extremely helpful and are always around to answer questions or give suggestions on where to visit. The kitchen is fully equipped and the rooftop is a great place to hang out on a nice day. If you find yourself in Seville, definitely consider La Banda.
