Dragonfly Hostels Lima is a small but relaxed and friendly hostel centrally located in the tourist district of Miraflores. Oftentimes, there is nineties music that tends to play late into the night. But there is also good Wi-Fi, free luggage storage downstairs, and a locked gate to get into the establishment.

The Location

It is about a fifteen-minute walk in one direction to Parque del Amor and the beach. In the other direction, you can walk about ten minutes to Kennedy Park (also known as "Cat Park") and the Central Park of Miraflores where there are many shops and restaurants. Also, right next door to the hostel is a nice and affordable restaurant/bakery that's good for a quick snack or a quiet meal. In addition, the Airport Express bus stops at the Hotel Jose Antonio, only two blocks away, and the PeruHop bus picks up right across the street. If you're looking to go out a lot for drinks and/or food, you might want to look for something in the Barranco district. But overall, the location is pretty convenient.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are multiple dorm rooms that have windows and fans attached to the wall, but no air conditioning. The bunk beds are sturdy and have placards to keep track of which beds are taken. The placement of the beds by the windows can be inconvenient because you have to move them to open or close the window, but people are usually pretty nice about it. There are lockers for personal belongings -- one for each bed -- to which you can attach a lock. There is also a double power outlet next to each bed, which is handy.

There are both combination toilet/shower bathrooms and those with just showers/sinks. Unfortunately, neither one comes with any sort of hook or surface to place your clothes, towels, or toiletries, which can be tricky. But both the bedrooms and bathrooms are very clean.

Common Spaces

While there is a kitchen/dining area that guests can use, it is rather small. However, the hostel does provide a free breakfast during a certain time period each morning -- some buses leave before this period starts, so it can be easily missed. There is also a TV, books, and games available.

A rooftop terrace also provides guests with a place to relax and hang out. The hostel sells craft beers and other drinks both here and at reception. The terrace has has hammocks and game tables available for use.

Summary

This is a really nice place to stay for first-time or seasoned hostel-goers. The place is clean, with a fun, colorful atmosphere, and the people are friendly.

Description

We offer the best quality in all of the essentials, in beds, sheets, bathrooms with great water pressure and lots of hot water. It is a small hostel with rooms for 2-8 people. The prices start at 8 dollars per person.

There is a TV room, free internet cafe-kitchenette, roof top terrace, appropriate number of shared bathrooms (we can assign a group its own bathroom by giving them the key), we keep all impeccable.

We are native Spanish speakers though we also speak fluent English, a little bit of French and Portuguese.

Dragonfly Hostels is located in the best area of Lima, Miraflores. It is right in the heart of the city, a couple blocks West from Miraflores Kennedy Central Park and a couple blocks East from the Beaches and Ocean View Parks and Malls. Surfing and Paragliding just a couple minutes away. Bars, Restaurants, Malls, stores, 24 hour supermarkets, hotels, casinos all in a three block radius. Laundry and Street bakery-restaurant in the same builiding we are located.
