A quaintly decorated hostel in the middle of Venice with a view of the canals. The building is an 800 year old mansion which has been extensively renovated by a small Methodist church. The interior is spacious but still homey. The common areas include a small TV room and a big hall where breakfast is served. It's only somewhat social, but most hostels in Venice aren't especially social.
Canals run along two sides of the building so you can sit in your room or in the big hall and watch the gondalas go by. It also has no curfew, which is rare in Italy. Overall it's a very nice place.
