Average, kitchen opening hours 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. if it goes about this hostel itself, it was ok. i have spent a week in there. there are few cons though. firstly, the kitchen is opened only between 7:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. secondly, there were no lockers in the room. unfortunately, i have had one problem connected with the shuttle to airport, meaning i had it booked (at the hostel reception) at 6:15 a.m., waited twenty minutes and it did not appear at all.

nice location however the service was not quite up to other hostels' standards.

we're 3 days in sydney. the atmosphere in the hostel was brilliant, friendly staff. thanx for the free map, good idea! the kitchen was a little bit dirty but the bathroom was clean (thank good for that...)
for our walk in the city we needed 40 minutes, but don't forget the hostel-hawaii-feeling.
we say thank you and greetings from germany.

I've been twice to Glebe Village, December 2003 and April 2004, and enjoyed it a lot. I think I stayed in total more than one month in the hostel. That had to do with buying and selling our car (Oraatje); actually that was a good excuse to stay for some days in Glebe Village. From the pancake-breakfast (on the weekends) to the quiz one Sunday I all found it awesome. But especially the late night conversations are things to remember. This week we've had a reunion in Amsterdam with people we met during those days in Sydney. I think that shows a little bit how brilliant our time in the Glebe Village was. This is not only a plea for how great Glebe Village is, but as well and in particular more how great our time was.
Greetings and love to the fabulous: Jamie, Epeli, Joey, B.B., Jasper, Tom, Martijn, Tully and all those others.

This place was a great stay. I had a problem when we were leaving but that was all my fault, nothing to do with the staff. They are very friendly and good to have chat with. Also the people that stay there are generally great. I was only there for a few days and they were all good fun. There are people from every nationality, Canada, Germany, Kiwis, Brits, Americans (well, not every nationality but you get the idea). It's a real good place to stay if you're looking for fun.

Don't live in room B7 if you plan to have any stuff left. Our door was broken or something, so during the day thieves came in and stole stuff from us. Don't expect so much help when it comes to stuff like this from the staff. Otherwise it was a nice place. It has a nice kitchen, TV room, and of course the table tennis rocked. :P Too bad they can't handle the security.

Everyone is so friendly at this hostel. You only plan on staying for a short time, then you get caught up in its ambiance and laid-back attitude, and you end up extending your stay in Sydney because you can't bear to leave! I spent many a night outside playing table tennis, enjoying the BBQ, and many other things that can't be mentioned, like just chatting and chilling!
Yes, this hostel is good for a VERY short stay. I don't know which rooms they renovated, but it certainly wasn't in MY block! It was loud at night, and it had a dingy, dirty kitchen. Plus, it was quite overpriced for what I got. I only lasted about four days there. Have you visited this Hostel? Post your comments here.
