Hostel Seven is a large hostel with several dorms and a very large kitchen for communal use. It is a very affordable option within walking distance to all the major Lviv sites.
The Location
The hostel is located next to Mytna Square. It's a bit away from the center but still very close. The area is very safe and beautiful, with a very local feel. There aren't so many restaurants close by but there are enough to take care of basic needs. There is an outpost of the famous Kumpel restaurant and brewery nearby.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel is set up like a university dormitory. The restrooms are meant to be used by several people at once. They are spacious and kept clean. It is inconvenient when guests sometimes lock the restroom door for privacy, but other than that they are well-appointed and plentiful.
The dorms are a bit dark. Each bed has a lamp, an outlet, and a closet big enough for a full-sized backpack. Beds are comfortable enough. Since most of the dorms are mixed, it would be nice to have curtains at each bunk.
Common Spaces
There are several common areas, which is really nice. The kitchen is huge, with several full-size tables -- twenty people could dine there at the same time. The kitchen is a full kitchen with everything you need to cook. Complimentary coffee, tea, and sugar are provided. There is a television in the kitchen, which is nice for zoning out after a long day. There are lots of signs in the kitchen letting you know where everything is. This is really an excellent kitchen for those who care about such a thing.
There is a common area on the upstairs level that is also spacious and comfortable. There are several couches, outlets, and an iron and ironing table for everyone to use. (Inside the upstairs bathroom is a washer and dryer that you can pay to use.) This lounge area is very quiet, a good place to read or study.
Summary
Hostel Seven seems to cater to Ukrainian travelers. It isn't particularly stylish or new, but the hostel is cozy with plenty of space outside of the dorms. Unlike other hostels, the design of this one is definitely well-suited to many tourists and feels very much like a university dorm. The price is pretty unbeatable and the location is great for travelers who don't need to be right in Rynok Square. This is a totally solid choice in Lviv.
