Great value for money

Stayed here recently and looks to be updated. Powerpoints near beds, aircon on at night, bathroom and toilet in each room. Ping pong, pool table, and even a mini tennis court, was great.

No good

No one fix broken mirror. Place was not clean. Ceiling light not functioning for 2 days, guests were living in the dark at night.

1st day -- no one fixed until repetitive complaints for 2 hours. cannot be fixed immediately. no any proactive action from receptionist. when we asked for portable light, they said no stock. 2nd day -- still not fixed at night. repetitive complaints again for 1 hour. They claimed they have to find an electrician to fix it and could not complete that day. This time, receptionist asked us if we want to change a room. We refused because we left next day. We asked for portable light again, after repetitive asking, we finally got one just before we slept.

Really bad

Seriously, i cannot stress enough how bad this hostel is. We were told to arrive at 10 a.m. for check in but weren't given a room for four hours, during which we had to wait in reception and were constantly ignored by the totally incompetent staff. Then were told that the four-share, mixed dorm room which had already prepaid was no longer available and that we would have to stay in a six-share but they would give us a jug of beer instead -- the cheek! The room smelt of sick and feces (i'm not joking!) and we had to properly clean it ourselves before it was suitable for humans. The manager was "never available" to talk to and we were constantly fobbed off by the staff. The hostel is so loud at night, all night and the walls are paper thin -- you can hear everything happening next door. Do not stay here -- stay anywhere else!

Great

Been there for over four months in 2006 and loved that place! kitchen sucks, but the rest is amazing -- staff is the best ever, swimming pool, and pub inside. you can live in there many days without get out and have a lot of great fun all night! Not for people who wants just sleep.

Worst Hostel ever

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This was the worst hostel ever. The staff are really stupid and can't keep track of who is in what room (they do this on a bit of paper). For example there was a couple who booked into this hostel 5 days in advance and gave credit card details to secure the room. They get to the hostel at about 8pm and there room was given away. Later that evening they had a whole lobby full of turned away guest. The staff are really rude. They treat you like scum. They get on the intercom in your room and make treats if you have not paid. The hostel is so UNCLEAN. There was pubic hair on the floor and when we walked in the sheets had not been changed. Pool is cold and small. The hostel is not clean (pictures give wrong impressions), The kitchen is really small. No hangout area really. computers are really slow.

This is the worst backpacker I stayed in my whole life. We found a spider in the toilets, the linen was dirty, apparently it has not been changed. The floor was dirty, we found several hairs in the shower (because we booked a private bedroom). The backpackers is not like the picture on the website, when i got there by taxi i did not even recognise the backpacker. Do not go over there. Just don't!

We stayed here for six nights (purely because it was cheaper than other backpackers in Brisbane). The rooms are nice and clean and have a TV but the kitchen is awful. The utensils are melted and dirty and the pots and pans look like they've been through the wars. The teatowels are black with dirt and seriously unhygienic! I think this may be because they sell food and want to encourage you to buy there! Also there are alot of people staying there who are working in the area and they all know each other and party hard. It's very intimidating.
