Good hostel with nice service a bit off the main area
The host of the hostel welcomes you with an alcoholic drink, which is a nice gesture, but also sets the tone for the place. I think it's fair to say that this hostel puts the social in centre, and with that there comes some drinking. The room itself is alright. However, you will face some noise outside when opening the windows, especially in the weekends, as the hostel sits on quite a trafficked street, as well as talkative people passing by. It's true like other people have said that the windows are well isolated. However, nothing beats fresh air in a room, so many times the windows will remain open. The bathroom for the mens have a very nice shower with lots of space. The womens shower could use an upgrade in the water pressure for the shower. Josko who works in the hostel is very flexible, and has found a niche in providing service above the usual level you can expect in the hostel service industry. For example, on the checkout, there were no problem to check out a bit late, as long as you are not hindering other guests to check in. I also was able to borrow an extra towel to bring to the beach without any issues. I think this is smart, as it makes the hostel compete with the more centrally located hostels. To conclude, I think this is a good option for those who are looking for socialization, drinking, prefers a hands on service from staff and does not prioritize hostels with better location (takes about 10 minutes to get to the tower in the old town).
