Winter paradise
i been going there since 1992 while serving with the special forces, we use to go there to do our 10 ice climbing trips. we were so impressed that i now bring my kids and wife. i prefer the dead of winter mid week. bring a ton of food and a 4wd vehicle. you can do daily trips snowshoeing and ice climbing with world class ice 20min hike off the highway from the truck. cook 4 huge meals per day sit next to the fire meet great people and talk shop with highly experienced mountaineers. i now live in new york and escape it all for a week a year to a piece of mountain paradise no one knows about and due to its local and logistics it will always stay that way. show the kids the beauty of simple pristine quiet winters.

Quiet, Comfortable, Rustic
I've been at this hostel a number of times over the years. It is out of the way, but in return you get a true wilderness experience, an outdoor hot tub, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, an ice climbing wall in winter, and clean (coed or same sex) rooms. The staff have always been great. If you go on a weekday, you might have the place to yourself. Very rustic. I love going here. Lots to do if you are outdoorsy. Soaking in the hot tub is the best (especially if it's snowing)! Highly recommended.

The best place i know to get the knots out of your neck!
Reconnect with yourself, God, and Nature! I just love this place! So much to do and see! Truly a peaceful experience you will relive in your mind again and again! Keeps me coming back! Staff are awesome!

i stayed here because of a double-booking at a nearby centre i was volunteering at. it was just one night but everything was clean, the person working was friendly, it was a much more pleasant experience than i'd been expecting.
