This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Tui.

Tui, Spain, is a town with a population of roughly seventeen thousand in the northeast of Spain. It is located at the border between Spain and Portugal; the Miño River (in Portuguese, Minho River) is the borderline between those two countries. Tui is situated on the northern banks of the river in Galicia, an autonomous community of Spain with its own language. However, Spanish is the second official language, which is widely used and spoken in everyday life. The history of the town dates back to the first century when it was mentioned first in documents. Nevertheless, there are traces of early human settlements, which are around twenty thousand years old. Thanks to its strategical geographical location, Tui offers many well-preserved historic buildings such as the local cathedral.

The cathedral is particularly interesting for history and architecture lovers. It was built in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries and has Romanesque as well as Gothic elements. Before the cathedral was built, there was a Christian basilica at the same place during the fifth and sixth centuries. Audio guides and guided tours are available. The Monastery of Santo Domingo is another worthwhile sight. The origins of the monastery date back to the fourteenth century. Generally, the Old Town of Tui is packed with lovely old buildings. The centre is very compact and very suitable to take a stroll.

If you want to stay, the Galician town offers a couple of guesthouses and hotels. The accommodations are spread in the centre. The quality of hotels varies; you can choose from simple places with one star as well as more fancy hotels with three stars. If you want to save some money and you prefer the typical backpacker style, you will be able to stay at a Tui, Spain hostel. Your Tui, Spain hostel is located in the centre of the town; the facilities are efficient and clean but not very stylish. Most accommodations including your Tui, Spain hostel offer free Wi-Fi.
