Overall good place to stay
Didn't factor in having to pay for a bus ticket to get to the hostel since it was a good ways outside of the city centre. However, getting outside of the city center was also nice and relaxing. Very clean and organized hostel. Breakfast included was a huge plus, but having to pay for linens and towels was not a good surprise. Only a couple of showers for the entire hall, but I didn't have to wait too long.

Courteous and friendly staff, clean and safe rooms
Loved this place. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. They mapped out hikes for me and had daily group activities. They also have a daily coffee lounge time, where the invite guests to come and hang out at the lounge and get to know one another. The site itself has one of the greatest views of Bergen and has a convenient bus stop not too far which allows you to get to downtown Bergen. Will definitely stay here again and would 100% recommend it.

Had a good night at the hostel
The stuff at the hostel is very friendly and is always eager to help. There is a nice free breakfast served at the hostel. The hostel is located a bit far from the city center and central station but is very close to the mountain Ulriken. People who come for hiking in surrounding area of Ulriken mountain will find this hostel a perfect place to stay.

Remote hostel in Bergen
The hostel is accessible by bus and taxi. Situated around 10km from Bergen and has a beautiful viev from the dining area. Relatively speedy Wifi but poor coverage means everyone flocks to the area around the reception. Discounted prices when presenting a Norwegian Tourist card or Hostelling International membership. The breakfast is included and very typical Norwegian but bedsheets are not. Nice TV room but only terrestrial local channels.

The breakfast is GOOD!
The breakfast is very good when compared with other hostels and it is well located to be on the hill, with a good bird view over the city. But it is not very easy to find it, especially in the night. The public space is also satisfactory and interesting.

Very clean, quiet, friendly, beautiful hostel!
This is a beautiful, clean hostel on Mt. Ulriken. It is near to hiking trails and has gorgeous views of Bergen city and fjords and mountains. Everything was very clean and well-kept. The free breakfast food was excellent (many different kinds of food and not hungry after eating). The 4-person dorm room was very nice and clean and roomy. The toilets and showers were also very clean and there was always hot water and no line. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bus was often and easy to find. It is also not a long walk to city center (only 30 minutes by cable car line). There is a lot of space for relaxing or socializing, inside and outside. It is also a family friendly hostel. I highly recommend staying here, for everyone. It is one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in (and I have stayed in many, many different hostels).

Avoid at all costs!
Of the four youth hostels I stayed at during my trip to Norway, this was by far the worst. It is all set up in a very hostile manner to its guests. You have to pay 10Kr for thirty minutes of cooking, which no other hostel does and is incredibly unreasonable. You have to pay 1Kr/minute for internet access, whereas everywhere else offers it free. I have also heard rumours of the hot water going off during peak periods. This hostel is a fifteen-minute bus trip from the city centre. The bus that serves the hostel is also infrequent (every thirty minutes or so), and costs 22Kr each way. Therefore, add 54Kr to the rate quoted as additional daily expenses.
