Great, great, great!
Stay here! There is no doubt at all that this is the best hostel on the French Riviera!
Amazing location, facilities, and staff
Hostel Meyerbeer Beach is one of the most secure and friendly places I've stayed. It's an extremely clean hostel with a welcoming staff. The location is incredibly easy to find (despite the convenient airport shuttles being on strike that week), and it's a short walk to the beach! Towels are included with the hostel, and get washed when needed as well. Very clean bed, quick wifi (even from my room, although I was on the first floor). There was fresh coffee, a selection of pastries, and yogurt offered for breakfast -- so that was great as well. Breakfast runs until 11, which is unusual for most hostels I've encountered in Europe. My room (8 bed mixed) had a small fridge, and the kitchen in the common area was fully stocked. In the evenings there are two sets of code-access doors, as well as each room had its own lock. The hostel offers lockers in the room. I felt very comfortable with the entire hostel, and the staff were always more than willing to help.
Nice place, near beach, small hostel
I had a very pleasant stay here, they arrange walking tours, pub crawls, other activities. The whole place is renovated, modern, everything you need. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm with bathroom. The room was tidy and a good size. The lockers were very basic and I wouldn't bother using them. The communal area is very small but relative to the size of the hostel. Kitchen is brand new and nice to use but small also. Breakfast is provided but its quite minimal. It's basically a few packaged cakes, yoghurt, tea and coffee.
Great value, great location, great staff.
I stayed 3 nights at the hostel. The staff at Mayerbeer are excellent. Louis, Luke and the other staff are more than happy to help and have a sound knowledge of Nice and the surrounding areas. We did the free walking tour with Katerina and it was an awesome introduction to the city. I will definitely stay again next time I visit Nice.
Greatest hostel ever!
Good staff, good time, not so far away from the beach, free towels, good food, free stuff for swimming! Very clean! The are cleaning room every day! Hostels stuff can help you in any cases!
Very good
Good location (close to the beach); Nice newly furnished rooms; Clean (everyday cleaning); Friendly and helpful staff; Towels, beach mats, and umbrellas provided (so you don't need to buy all of that by yourself!); Very nice breakfasts; Common room is a bit too small though.
Great Location, Mediocre Hostel
Meyerbeer Beach is perfectly situated about a fifteen-minute walk from the SNCF train station and five minutes to the beaches. They also provide beach mats, which are essential because the beaches are rocky. The room we stayed in was spacious, with a fan and a good-sized balcony. The bathroom was decently clean. There was even a kitchenette in our room, although we didn't use it. Also, the tv played British CNN which was nice. Nonetheless, they lack some of basics that make a great hostel. The staff was not particularly friendly or welcoming, the common area was very small, there were only two computers (one of which was not working at the time), no breakfast, and the reception is not twenty-four hours. So, while it isn't an amazing hostel, I would still recommend staying here because the prices are good and you really can't beat the location.
Great location!!! We paid to be in two six-person rooms and ended up in four-person rooms. And one night were given a single room for the two of us (myself and my best friend) I don't know about the big rooms but these were great. The four-person room had a beautiful balcony and the room was a nice size with a decent bathroom. The single room was nice and spacious but the bathroom was awful with very little water. We ended up washing our hair in the sink with freezing cold water. It was a great location and the man at the desk was extremely helpful. Great place to stay for a few days with a friend.
