Punta Cana is a city in the Dominican Republic that is a major hotbed of tourism. It is one of the most family-friendly cities in the country. If you plan on going to Punta Cana on vacation, make sure you check into one of the affordable hostels in the city. The best way to experience local life while tasting the great traditional French cuisine and seeing the sights in the city is by staying at a hostel near the sea.

Cap Cana is a private beach that is one of the best places to see in Punta Cana. You can hire a boat cruise of the area, traveling through it in a catamaran for an entire day. The catamaran is a huge sailboat with an open bar you can take advantage of. Tours include snorkeling from the boat in the waters of Cap Cana and the coral reef located nearby, along with a swim in a natural pool.

One adventure-filled thing you can do in Punta Cana is go ziplining in the nearby forest area. The zipline canopy tour is offered by many of the tour companies in the city. With fifteen platforms and eight cables stretched across the treetops and valleys, ziplining is one of the best ways to see the city as a whole. One of the longest cables here is over 2500 feet in length.

If you would prefer to experience adventure underwater, try the Marinarium. This is a marine sanctuary in the ocean that you can visit by renting out a boat with a glass bottom. If you want to, you can also swim in the waters with the sharks and stingrays here. There are many species of rare marine life in the Marinarium. For lovers of nature, the Haitises National Park is also nearby for a land-based adventure following the Marinarium. This park is home to some of the largest mangrove forests in the country.
