No privacy, may be dangerous to your health
The second star is for the friendliness of staff, not facilities. The "hostel" (small 2nd floor sign on the building wall only) has to be entered through the backyard by way of a staircase that should negotiated on all fours when drunk (steep, no light at night). The door has to be opened by the attendant, leaving before 9 am requires waking her up. No handrail on the stairs going from the lounge. There are two dorms, one of them right above the lounge, if somebody talks downstairs no sleep is possible without earplugs. Beds rest on very few loose boards, likely to crush down when loaded unequally. Dorm 1 is walk-through to dorm 2, lights therefore switched on frequently at night. For 18 beds there is one shower cum toilet in a totally unventilated cubicle, electrical socket dangling from the wall, mould growing and smelling accordingly -- one additional toilet downstairs. The tap is only loosely fixed. Very worn furniture in the lounge. The kitchen area consists of an old gas stove (2 of 4 plates working) a sink, fridge and table. Cleanliness adequate. Central location a plus.
