Great room, great service, great view, awesome time!
Christina picked us up and dropped us off at the port and was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Hotel is located in a peaceful area, the restaurant next door is out of this world good, and it's a quick walk down to the beach. Hotel is easily reached from the town with just a few minutes bus trip or a scooter. Room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the sea from the balcony. Highly recommend!
Great Stay for the Traveling Backpacker
I arrived at the port from Athens with my girlfriend and her friend. We had no contact with the staff until we arrived. Luckily one of the other guys standing there at the port allowed us to use his phone and was familiar with Christina and Ana. They came to pick us up 10 minutes after contacting. The location is only 5-10 minutes away from the port in a nice part of town. The pension was quaint and comfortable with nice accommodations. Mama's family has a restaurant and pool next door that we went to every day to relax and have a great lunch for a reasonable price. Not to mention the fantastic view from both our balcony and the pool area. Underneath the pool was a small market that was very convenient. Only a few hundred steps down from the Pension was the beautiful beach. I strongly recomend going to the hotel with the italian restaurant next to the beach. We didn't feel the need to see the rest of the island because we had all the relaxation, accommodation, and comfort of the pension, restaurant, and beach within our reach. To top it all off, Anna dropped us at the port for our next ferry ride and shortly returned after to return my cell phone that I left in the room. She was so sweet she wouldn't even accept my money as a reward. Enjoy your stay and wear sunscreen.
One of the best stays ever
The host Cristina couldn't be kinder with guests. She comes to pick you up (and bring you back) at the port for free and gives you a lot of useful advice. Our room (or better, our house) was clean, with a terrace with a magnificent view overlooking the sea. Breakfast is not worth it, it's too expensive for what you get (5 Euros each person) , there's a supermarket on the sea where you can buy biscuits and fruit juices for less.
Rooms are beautifully kept, and Kristina (the owner) and her family are wonderful! Getting to Ag. Stephanos from Mykonos town is no problem at all -- a 4 cab ride or twenty- to thirty-minute walk along the beach -- highly recommended!
If you want to find a paradise, don't go to noisy crazy Paradise beach. Just come to Ag. Stefanos and stay some days with Christina. Last time I forgot to return to my country and visited this pension three times and stayed thirty days in total. If you are lucky, you'll see two angels and have the honor to play skinaki (jumping rope) with them, and you'll have to worry which place you should choose to live in the rest of your life, your country or Mykonos!
This place was absolutely amazing. I had a two-bed room to myself (because it was April and tourist season hadn't started yet). It was basically like having my own apartment with a kitchen and bathroom. The beach nearby is beautiful, and the walk to town is a really nice, relaxing walk. This is a great place to stay if you want to relax and not do the touristy thing. The taverns around Mykonos are great and cheap and of course there is ouzo. The owner is really nice and will help you with whatever you need, and the price is ridiculous.
It's a great pension! I loved staying here. Christina and her husband are very helpful and they're very nice people. It's close to the sea, and it's not expensive. It's about a 30-minute walk to the city, but you can also go by taxi. (It's cheaper than going by bus). It's a very nice place to stay!
I really enjoyed my stay at Mama's Pension on Mykonos. The pension is close enough to the main town to enjoy the action, yet far enough away to relax. The house is typical Cycladic style. There is a small beach just down the steps from the pension. Christina is very helpful, providing pick up from the ferry and a wealth of information about the island.
