Cool Homestay with Atmosphere and gentle helpful people

I stayed for some days in this location. The employees helped me a lot during my stay. The Description from the bus connection to Hotel vom Stotis was wrong. There was Bus No.74 going to this 4. station. The single Bed was okay. Toilets and showers couldt be more. Service and environment like kitchen and veranda were lovely! Thank You!

this hotel is very good. when i was in vilnius from my work i lived in this hotel and it was very good place to live. i'm very happy.

Visited in the Uzubio Hostel in 2002 & 2004, if things haven't change that much (good things always seems to change worse) it is excellent choice for people who like to enjoy peace and cozy atmosphere. In 2002, we had a really nice parties with all people in the hostel + staff member. So good memories, think will be there again!

Paupio Accomodation, previously called Uzupio Hostel, is a funny place - and it could only be found in the Uzupis district of Vilnius. It is part of a hotel, Paupio Namai, which until fairly recently was called Uzopio Hotel. Since the dorm is part of the hotel, there is a range of hotel facilities available including a reasonable restaurant, although breakfast, which is extra, is rather ordinary.

Paupio has a reputation of being either arty or dangerous - depending on who is asked about it - and a "Republic of Uzupis" sign greets all visitors entering the area. There is also a Constitution on a wall near the hostel. The area grows on you slowly although the key focal point of it is the Uzupio Bar near the bridge into Uzupis - the unofficial headquarters of the breakaway republic. And it is not uncommon to meet Vilnius' real mayor holding up the bar in the evenings. The beer and atmosphere is excellent but if you eat there, you'll regret it.

The hostel and hotel are in a big old manor house and the staff can be friendly. But don't always expect them to put Lithuania's Soviet past behind them when it comes to customer service. While the dorm is shared accommodation, the rest of the building unsurprisingly feels like a hotel and the opportunity for interaction with guests can be limited.

The hostel is only fifteen minutes walk from the old town and but a long distance from the bus and railway stations. It is too far to walk with luggage and working out buses can be very confusing, so it really is not worth the effort trying to find it if you are staying for only one night. The entrance to the hostel is around the back of the building.

If the dorm is full they also have cheap single hotel rooms available. Apparently it is not uncommon for staff to lift slightly the cost of a dorm bed, so make sure you bring your email confirmation with you.

But a visit to Vilnius would not be complete without going to Uzupis and the hostel is ideally located for that purpose. Since it is some distance out of the centre, there are few other guests and it can be quiet and it makes a nice change to the business of the city centre hostels.

This is an odd sort of place. It's not exactly a hostel (don't be fooled by the name.... it's not EXACTLY in Uzupio either!). There are some people there who are staying as though it is a hotel, and you have to watch as they are served breakfast. We're pretty sure it was our orange juice they were drinking, too, and milk come to think of it! On the plus side it's pretty clean and secure and the staff are ok. It's fine if you just want a bed and a good sleep but don't expect to meet many people or have a fun time. Vilnius is amazing, though!!

It's located outside of the old town, but it's a very nice and quiet place. The beds are awful--we have slept on stretchers for three nights. They only have one shower for the entire hostel. People are really friendly, and they have a kitchen you can use. Nice hangout outside as well. Too bad there's no bar.

This hostel was very nice, almost like a hotel. The location was fun because it was near to the Republic of Usupis, which is great. The breakfast was great, but be sure to check that it is included in your room price, otherwise you will pay a lot for it. Also, check the amount you are paying when you get there. Their pricing seems fairly 'creative.' But the hostel is very clean and comfortable.

A quiet haven, perched a pleasant walk's distance outside of the light hubbub of Vilnius. Facilities are very hygenic and the hostel has a freshness about it. If you are booking online, be sure to check that you get charged the correct amount at the hostel. By pure mistake, both I and my roommate ended up paying the booking price again. Give breakfast a miss.

Downtown Forest Hostel & Camping Reviews from the Web

Hands down one of my favorite hostels I've ever stayed in! The spot has a large backyard filled with tables, hammocks, and trees, and turns into a fun spot for people to grill out and drink beers at night. I really liked that a code was necessary to enter the front door and our own private doors. There was ample space to work and it was a perfect walk away from downtown.

Fabulous place with beautifully atmospheric back garden where to enjoy a Baltic drink after a long day of splendid walks in Vilnius - the greenest of European capitals. Within 5 minutes walk to the Old Town etc. Everything was very clean, comfortable and satisfactory. This was my third stay at the Downtown Forest Hostel and I highly recommend it to everyone who is an adventurous and hostel friendly individual.

The hostel was nice, clean, and offers free coffee in the morning. The only recommendation I have is I would Like to see all-women dorms. The only downside is the toilets, they have very few for the number of people Staying there

Guys, this place is not clean at all. I do not recommend it.

A good atmosphere with plenty of facilities.

Everything was nice, area, staff, other guests. The room is comfortable, bed linen and shower room are clean, good coffee in the morning. So I enjoyed, thanks!

Nice hostel, nature in the back, city in the front.

Vilnius city center is in walking distance, 10-15 min.

They frequently run out of maps and coffee, everything else was fine.

... great economic stay for good wheather season (eg having breakfast, meals, bbq, bar outside). and room / bed good, paupio turgus close, too. will definitely keep this in mind.

I enjoyed my stay here. The kitchen was pretty good. They need more kitchen items though. Getting a toaster would also be good. The bathrooms were pretty clean most of the time. If you stay here be prepared for loud music and people talking every night until about 12:00 - 1:00am coming from the outdoor bar area at the hostel. All in all though. I would stay here again.

It is probably the best hostel in Vilnius and I have been to a few

Super chill location near the forest. Clean, comfortable, and cozy. Would recommend!

The hostel itself its very pretty, has a lot of green space (its a camping too duh) which i appreciate a lot. i was lucky enough to be there when a concert took place!

The hostel is a little bit far from the center (20min walking) but in a quiet area. There are new facilities (cinema/restaurants) near by across the street. The building is large with plenty of outside tables.m and BBQ. However, there were only 2 toilets per level, so 2 restrooms for 10 bedrooms which is not enough. Rooms are secured and you can have access to a locker.

The hostel itself is amazing with big areas and an amazing outdoors that is just as cozy as the inside! The common areas such as the kitchen and bathrooms are quite nice and extremely clean. The only downside is not to the hostels fault, but it takes more or less 20 min by foot from it to the historic city center which in nice weather is quite nice because the neighborhood is quite pretty but if its raining its a hassle. Overall HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

Such a nice place! Beautiful house and garden. Lived in a private room, and it was so cheap for great room!

It is a good place but care should be much on tourists who forgets or check out.

Good value for money so cant complain as it was clean and did the job. Only stayed one night but they provide towels and sheets free of charge which was great. Only downside I would say is that the lockers they have in the dorms are fairly small and also cant be locked with your own padlock (Im guessing you would have to pay extra to have a locker). The kitchen was being redone while there but still usable. The outside was really pretty and had all fairy lights etc and the dorm had a balcony!

Just the one night here, nice hostel, not really much of an atmosphere and a little far from centre

Nice modern, clean rooms with great shared facilities. We stayed in the 4 bed dorm and the beds were great.

A very cozy hostel to stay especially during the fall and winter seasons. My boyfriend and I arrived in the fall and found the hostel to be incredibly gorgeous with all the colorful leaves. Staff was helpful but came off a little cold and stern when we would ask questions. Showers could have been cleaner. Would suggest for the hostel to have some common dinner or event so that we could meet other residents.

Our hostel is located down the hill the city center, in the artistic part of Vilnius called Užupis. Walking down, the spirit goes up because of the rustic and warm neighbourhood around. Main tourist spots are within a slow-walk distance: city hall (7 min), cathedral (10min), bus & train station (15 min). Plenty of green areas around: newly opened park (5min), river and ponds (1min). And of course republic of Užupis just meters away.

Big house is surrounded by trees and a garden. We haven’t checked it yet, but those trees could be considered to be a forest, a small one at least. So space and nature is what we have plenty of everywhere. Be sure, the rooms are not overcrowded. Plenty of free parking space within the territory, neat and well equipped kitchen. Two beautiful women are cleaning everything daily. That is a smaller part of local vibe.

The main thing about us - this is a quiet place for a relaxing stay. There is no way we can compete with up-beat atmosphere with the best pubs and clubs – therefore, we don’t throw lame parties, we recommend good places. The ones locals love. However, for a calm evening everything is in a place – fireplace, bar, music. You can bring your wine or beer or snacks as long as it is ok with the rest.

We all are passionate about traveling and about our city. Just ask and we will advise you what to see and do, just what we would like someone to advice us, when we are traveling.
