Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, is a modern, well planned, and new city. Developed in the mid-twentieth century, the city is adjacent to Rawalpindi and both cities are regarded as “sister cities.” The city is famous for its greenery and scenery. The city is well planned and divided into square sectors, each are two-by-two square kilometers and named with letters from north to south and numbers from east to west. Every sector has a Markaz (center), the local central commercial area for each sector.

Murree is a famous hill station about forty kilometers north of Islamabad and the city of Taxila is the house of old civilizations just forty kilometers southwest of Islamabad. Khanpur Dam is another famous tourist attraction for speed boats and paragliding. The city is linked with Lahore and Peshawar with the M2 and M1 motorways respectively.
