Brumadinho is a municipality in Brazil that is located in the region of Minas Gerais. It is a small city that is about 800 meters above sea level. It has many attractions within it and around it, but the main appeal of the city is the charm of staying there. You will find a few hostels around, most of which are quite affordable. However, it is not a place in which to have an adventure. You can stay here at a hostel and visit the nearby museum or state park.
The State Park of Serra do Rola-Moca is located on the edge of the municipality. Reaching it from your hostel should take a couple of hours if you walk there. It is one of the largest parks in the region and contains six natural springs that draw water into the city of Brumadinho. You cannot visit these springs because they are crucial to the survival of the residents, but you can watch their progress from afar.
In the park, you will find various species of plant and animal life. Some of these species are extremely rare and only grow in this geographical location of the world. You cannot visit the park on your own because of the value of the plants inside it. There are monitored tours available at the entrance. Take the time to get in touch with nature and check out the diverse species of orchid, arnica, jacaranda, and other vegetation, along with animals like the maned wolf, ocelot, cougar and more.
When you return to Brumadinho, take a trip to the Inhotim Institute, a contemporary art museum in combination with a botanical garden founded by a mining magnate in the past. It is open to the public, costing about ten million dollars a year to run. It is one of the largest tracts of land in the world, attracting over 250,000 visitors each year.
