In the center-east of Argentina is located the city of Paraná, the capital of the Province of Entre Ríos. Its name derives from the Paraná River. The population of Paraná is of approximately a quarter of a million inhabitants and just under five hundred kilometers separates Paraná from Buenos Aires.
Its location at the shores of the Paraná River makes this city a place that deserves to be visited. Melding the urbanism and the most beautiful views of exotic nature, Paraná offers thousands of options for tourists. The architectonic structure of the city is a mix of buildings from different times. In this place, the modern and the ancient live together. An extensive park, Urquiza Park, connects the shores of the river with the urbanized part of the community. Another green area, the Nuevo Park, offers the visitor a look to the autochthonous vegetation of the region. The beaches shaped by the shores of the Paraná River are another attraction for the natives and the tourists.
Among the activities that tourists can enjoy while visiting Paraná, fishing, aquatic sports, ecotourism, and horse riding must be highlighted. Excursions to the Pre Delta National Park include the visit to an area with dense, jungle vegetation and lagoons where the tourist can be in touch with the flora and fauna of the region, take guided walks or just go for camping to spend a relaxing time.
There are a handful of hostels in Paraná. Some are located in the center of the community, close to all the types of transportation. Others are placed in the proximity of Urquiza Park, which is convenient for those travelers who are more interested in staying in a quiet place, close to nature and ready for adventure. Depending on the Paraná hostel, breakfast may be included in the hostel fee. Linen, TV, heating and air conditioning, and Wi-Fi internet are offered as part of the regular service. Rooms are in general shared, with four to six beds. However, it is possible to find single rooms with private bathrooms. As it is frequent in Argentina, most Paraná hostels have free access to barbecue area, which allow visitors to cook their own Argentinean meat while spending a pleasant time with other guests and friends.
