Sispony is a village in the parish of La Massana in Andorra, the biggest microstate of Europe that is located in the Eastern Pyrenees between Spain and France. With the elevation of the country averaging nearly 2000 meters, Sispony is found in a valley between Arinsal and Andorra la Vella, against some amazing mountain peaks. Upon getting here, you would first need to reach the capital of the country, whre there is located a frequent bus service. However, a better option would be getting your own car, as that gives you access to a lot of nice, but remote places in the mountains that are not accessible by public transportation.
Sispony is the place you would enjoy if you just want to leave the world behind and have some time for yourself and your thoughts. Waking up to an amazing scenery every day and having the chance to be in the mountains in fifteen minutes, this is the ideal place if you are a lover of nature and enjoy being out in the fresh air. There are several walking tracks starting from here, and you can choose from various length and difficulties. You can do anything from a short stroll to a day-hike up to some well-maintained mountain huts nearby.
In the winter, a few kilometers north from Sispony, you will find the main skiing hub of the country: the Arinsal-Pal-El Massana triangle is the ideal place to be if you are a fan of winter sports.
The only hostel operating in Sispony, called Youth Hostel Borda Jovell, will definitely contribute to a magical experience in this hidden gem of a place. Built in the traditional style, this hostel will make you feel like you have stepped back in time and give you a real authentic experience. Although the rates are quite high, it will definitely be money well spent.
