Stay in this hostel!!
This place is amazing -- good location next to a metro stop, we met the most amazing people from so many different countries (one the son of an A list celeb!!!) And everyone was so friendly and chilled out. There are big lockers in the room and guides of where to go -- dorms also have swipe cards and the place is very modern and clean -- way underpriced! Staff were also amazing sneaking people a free drink or too and they managed to sort out our rooms on the day after I messed up the booking, despite the place being fully booked up. Do not miss out on this, confident to say it feels like you must easily be in the best hostel in berlin when you are there!
Super nice staff, accommodation, location, atmosphere and garden
Fantastic hostel! Staff is very friendly and warm! Dorms and bed sheets are very clean, the lock is spacious with a convenient shelf at the top for small things, you have your own power plug next to your bed. Bathroom and shower installations are new and always very clean maintained. The jewel of the hostel is a nice and cozy interior garden. Location is absolutely excellent. Super close to the metro station and in a wonderful neighbourhood full of history. The atmosphere is lively with lots of bars full of young people. There are tons of restaurants, supermarkets, shops, and bars of several prices and types.
This place is great! Staff is very helpful! Dorms are clean, and you have your own night light and power outlet next to your bed. The bar/restaurant is very good. Prices are very reasonable. Location is excellent. There are tons of restaurants, supermarkets, shops and bars. 15 minute walk to Alexanderplatz. Metro station is across the street. The only thing I didn't quite liked is that the bathrooms are way too far from some rooms, and if you need to use the toilet in the middle of the night, that's a little inconvenient. But overall, the hostel is excellent.
It was a nice clean hostel with spacious rooms. The location was a bit awkward and hard to find because of construction and such. Also, the shower facilities could be a bit better.
It was overbooked, so they gave me a private room. Very stylish, great location. Breakfast not included, but abundant.
Good but not Great
This place is set up for wonderfulness -- Breakfast, 24 hour bar and food, backyard garden -- And yet it just missed the mark. Though the rooms and bathrooms were large and very clean, the atmosphere was missing. The staff was not very warm or helpful. And they allow big school groups. Though nothing was particularly wrong with our stay, I will be trying a different hostel on our next trip to Berlin.
Pfefferbett Hostel is a modern and centrally-located hostel in Berlins Prenzlauer Berg district.
The hostel is located close to the U-bahn station Senefelderplatz. From this station you can take the U-bahn to Alexanderplatz. The hostel is in a safe area with lots of cafes, restaurants, galleries, and shops nearby, but it is not a noisy area. There is a great organic supermarket within a two-minute walk of the hostel too. Once you work your way around the public transport system (which anyone visiting Berlin will have to do very quickly!) its a great starting point for exploring the city.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Dorm rooms are available with four to eight beds, and private rooms are also available. The hostel is very modern, and has a good security and locker system. Beds are comfy and have reading lights, and linen is provided -- beds are made up prior to arrival. The shower and toilet are within the dorm rooms, and are modern and clean (timer showers, but the hot water isnt cut after the time limit, so a very minor inconvenience given that everything else about this place is great!) The rooms are bright, clean, and fairly spacious.
The common area/dining room is popular, with many travelers meeting there during the day and in the evening -- drawn by the free internet access (three computers provided), open fireplace, billiards table, table football, and bar. There is no kitchen available for use by guests, but the bar serves meals and has a buffet breakfast (not included). A laundry is available for guest use. The hostel common space also has a book exchange. Pfefferbett attracts a mostly young backpacker crowd, with a few groups and older travelers. Although the bar is open twenty-four hours and a lot of guests use the common space in the evening, it is not a particularly loud/party hostel, and you shouldnt have any trouble getting a good nights rest.
The Pfefferbett is a great hostel -- clean, modern, and with the facilities that will suit most people for a short-term stay in a fascinating city.
