An expertly run hostel with a desirable mix of rustic and modern. The family who runs it were gracious, even though we felt we were imposing. Located at the centre of the sprawling village. Terrific location for hiking. I'm already planning a future visit. For anyone who wants to shower every morning during the high season, you may be in for a wait for the mens or womens facility (as each has combined one shower and one toilet).
The kitchen here was wonderful and everything was very clean. Though it is all the way on top of the mountain and a little less than an hour bus ride away from everything, it is worth it. It is cheap, quiet, beautiful, and has an amazing view over the ocean. There are markets nearby, a posta, and the bus stop is literally in front of it. Very nice staff and a lot of little dogs. :O)

B&B Beata Solitudo Reviews from the Web
Great hostel overall. The only issue I had were that the lockers arent big enough to store your backpack and only 3 of the 5 beds in my dorm had lockers available.
Wonderful stay on top of the mountain. The owners are very hospitable and the place has a very laid back vibe.
Great hostel away from the crowded places along the Amalfi Coast but still very near from it. Theres plenty of nice hikes around that joins surrounding villages. The bus stop is right by the hostel and brings you directly to Amalfi. The hosts are very kind and helpful and the place is very clean. I would definitely go back !
The hostel is really comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and big. Everything is clean and the owners friendly. Supermarkets are easy to reach by foot as well as some restaurants. Only negativ side: of you want to do any hike that doesnt start and end at the hostel as well as for arrivel/ departure you have to take the Bus to amalfi which takes about an hour and depending on the day of the week might not come so often.
Therefore you get stunning views within 5minutes from the hostel!
The perfect hostel if you are looking to do Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento on a smaller budget. The staff were very friendly and clearly care for their guests. My stay here felt like a little slice of paradise. However, I have to be honest. During my stay, there was an issue with bed bugs. It took us (the female dorm) three days to figure out what it was, but by then I was covered with bites. They did a fumigation treatment before my last night but by then it was too late.
Beata Solitudo Ostelo is one of the best hostels I have stayed at. So many little details show that they put their heart and mind into providing a comfortable stay for the traveler! The bathroom was a modern design bathroom better than many hotels charging an arm and a leg
Bring high performance ear plugs the piazza is really loud late into the night
A superb stay in spite of the noise!!
An excellent town to see the region daily life. Town well connected, location in the first bus stop so youll always get place. Totally recommended.
Very good place. It was clean and we stayed in a private room instead of shared room, although we paid for shared. Unfortunately the place was very far from Amalfi, although there's a bus that you can take, the latest bus is at 9pm. Also the trip in the bus made me motion sick.
Liked: Very nice and very helpful host, accomodation very well-equipped and clean !!! Thank you !! Didn't like: -
Liked: I liked the dorm, big kitchen and cleanliness of the bathroom. The staff incredibly friendly. Didn't like: Nothing
The hostel is clean and located in a beautiful place. Great views of the ocean from a nearby viewpoint. The owner Paulo is such a helpful person! I got out at the wrong bus stop some 20 minutes from the hostel and he was nice enough to pick me up from there in his car. They also gave me printouts of bus & ferry schedules, helpful general information and even a SITA bus ticket (as I had to leave by the early morning bus and yes, didnt have a ticket!). I didnt use the wifi so cant comment on it, but my mobile connection did not have much coverage inside the hostel. Theres a lovely church right nearby and yes, it does ring every 15 minutes I think at night but I didnt find this a problem at all. Wouldve loved to stay on for some more time and explore the place a bit more. Id definitely recommend this hostel and more importantly, its owners to everyone!
beautiful place in mountains with beautiful view, nice room, nice people
Welcoming staff. Great kitchen, great way to meet Italians cooking their pasta for dinner. The village is lively but not much with tourists, wonderful view from the belvedere, nice walks around but the paths are not well indicated, i was by myself and was scared to get lostVery good value for money
Liked: The hostel is in a very peacefull area, away from the mad crowd from the coast. The room was nice and clean, the kitchen was well equiped, the staff was helpfull, good WI-FI but not in room. Close to the hostel is a nice viewpoint to the coast. Didn't like: At night we heard the church bells every 15 minutes
Liked: Great owners who are so helpful and accomodating. LOvely sociable garden area. Didn't like: Far away from the beach and bus service not brilliant.
Liked: It looks closer to sea in google maps but it's not that close, it's really high. But who cares? The view of the sea is marvelous. There is a lot to do there, you can do hiking or go to the seaside. The place is really nice, there is a kitchen to cook or prepare sth and on the door it says there is a Italian cooking course, but I don't know if it exists because I was too silly to stay in this place for only one night. You should spend at least 3 days, it really worths. Didn't like: Nothing at all.
Liked: The hostel is in a very peaceful area. Staff were very helpful. The kitchen facilities were great. Room was clean and comfortable. Laundry facilities were great and easy to use. Didn't like: It was a bit difficult to get there/to the beach- definitely be prepared for windy hour long crowded bus rides that often come late. It says on hostelbookers that breakfast is included, but it is not. There could be a better bin system for recycling and a clearer system so that food leftover from previous guests can be eaten by future guests.
