What a beautiful place to stay! Out of all the hostels I stayed in while only trip this was the first one that gave me a "homey feel," something I needed very much!

Situated in the delightful we town of Schwyz, this is an ideal hostel if you want to do nothing but sit and look at the beautiful surroundings. Warm comfortable clean rooms with bunk beds, good lockers and basins in the rooms. Well set out communal area with plenty of books and well supplied kitchen, although you will share this with full time residents, which could be a little off putting. Easy enough to get to, just catch the bus into town from the train station then carry on walking in the same direction until you reach the hostel. Look for the hostel signs. Helpful English speaking staff although the hostel had no information and nobody new of the Holloch Caves only 20mins down the road, one of the main reasons you would come to this part of the world.
Hirschen Backpackers Hotel & Pub Reviews from the Web
Lovely and welcoming staff.
Liked: There was actually a kitchen! (After so many hostels in Italy without any kitchens and lockers for your valuables, it was nice to finally get back to a hostel with the basics). It was a nice kitchen too, with all the necessities. Nice commons room, comfortable bunk beds. There were lockers for your valuables, although they were a little shabby. The reception and bartenders were very friendly and gave good advice on what to do around the area. The hostel is in a lovely town, high in the Alps nad near many gorgeous lakes. Easily accessible by bus, not hard to find your way. Upon arrival, they give you a coupon for a free beer at the adjoining bar. Didn't like: Some of the bar customers can get very loud (ie. screaming at the tops of their lungs in the middle of the night), which is highly annoying. No fans in the rooms. Other than that, the only thing I disliked was the thundrous snoring of one of my dorm-mates, but that wasn't the hostel's fault!
Youthful hostel with a wide range of overnight accommodation from simple 4-bed-dorm to cosy single or double room, some of them ensuite. All rooms are equipped with washbasin and TV (except dorms). Part of our house is a unique pub with a romantic garden lounge and a small but fine choice of food and several swiss beers.
The hirschen backpacker-hotel & pub was founded in the year 2000. Since then this hostel has been home to many backpackers, hikers, pilgrims, bikers and other visitors of the historic town in the heart of Switzerland, which is also home of Victorinox, the world famous factory of pocket tools. All over the year there are taking place a lot of traditional events, which might lengthen your stay.
