Dingo Backpackers Hostel

The Hostelz.com Review

Dingo Backpackers Hostel is the perfect hostel for a solo backpacker!

The Location

The location of the hostel isn't the best, but it is only around a twenty-minute walk into town, which is about standard for most accommodation in the city. You have a small mini-market nearby and a larger one around five to ten minutes away. Transport is available nearby and the place is around a half an hour drive from the airport.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The hostel is a house -- there are a couple of dorm rooms and two privates. They are basic but have a special touch, with items that have been placed around to make them feel homey and comfortable. However they are basic, with beds on pallets on the floor, and if you are visiting in summer there is a window in the room, but no air conditioning or fan so just be warned it can get very hot in the rooms.

There are two decent-sized bathrooms in the hostel, with hot water and quite clean, plenty of space to store your stuff whilst you are using the shower.

Common Spaces

This hostel triumphs in the social aspect. The hostel is in an old house, so it's quite homey whist still having enough room for everyone; couches and lots of space give the ideal place for everyone. There is a huge lounge room, a large kitchen for guests to use, an outdoor seating area, as well as a place to sit and watch the sunset. After weeks of traveling Georgia, this hostel is a welcome change, as the owners are super friendly and willing to go above and beyond for their guests. If someone staying wants to do something or see something -- Friday night BBQs, beer pong, pub crawls, or even ordering in food for everyone -- they will arrange it.

This hostel is such a welcome treat in Georgia, where there are a lot of hostels but not many aimed at solo backpackers. The effort that is expended on the social aspect of this hostel and the staff working to cater for every person is next level! It's definitely somewhere that needs to be experienced whilst in Georgia!
